Only Nolan film I unreservedly adore.
Every other film he has made seems to be a pale attempt at what,'the prestige', got so very fucking right.
You can watch it and completely know there was no magic...you can watch it and absolutely know that it was all magic.
Pure fucking genius.
>You can watch it and completely know there was no magic...you can watch it and absolutely know that it was all magic.
makes no sense
Dunkirk will be his ultimate piece of kino
agreed entirely. id give the prestige a 9.5 (and desu i can't really find a counter against giving it a 10).. and none of his other work really eclipses a 7, although almost all of it still hovers in the 6-7 range.
i think the prestige kinda just worked perfectly with his style and sensibilities and also because of a handful of other things that can't easily be recreated.. and then he started going for more in a half-baked kinda way and in the process drew all of his flaws closer and closer to the surface.
I unironically think Memento is his best movie. Not to say others are bad though.
inception is by far his best work
I know this is a meme post but I un-ironically enjoyed Inception.
GOAT soundtrack
Clear, defined characters
Good (but not great) visuals
Had a couple of genuinely interesting ideas
Comfy ending
>GOAT soundtrack
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRP
I also enjoyed Inception.
inception invented warp
I didn't get the movie, tbqhwyf
So was Teddy the killer who was fucking with him? Did he already kill the killer? Or was he the guy with memory problems from the story who killed his wife?
Can someone explain?
Zhang Yimou once said that the most beautiful sentiment a filmmaker can aspire to is to create something that someone will remember for the rest of their lives. That sound will forever evoke the memory of Inception in the minds of people who hear it. It's iconic.
He already killed the killer, Teddy was using him to dispose of bad guys, like Batman with amnesia. You send him in thinking he's killing the man who killed his wife, but in reality it's just some local druglord.
The way we know this is the real story is that Teddy has photographic proof of killing the wife's killer. Photo evidence being a theme in the movie, of course.
I know Zimmer deserves credit. Just sick of every trailer doing that single key on a piano and then warp.jpg
District 9 did it first though
district who?
bump
fookin prawns ey
I think Memento has an interesting concept but as a movie it's pretty meh.
1- The Prestige
2- Inception
3- Interstellar (criminally underrated)
4- Batman Begins
5- Memento
6- The Dark Knight (criminally overrated)
7- The Dark Knight Rises
Will Nolan ever top this?
nope.
inception was garbage but otherwise i agree
what about Following and Insomnia
