Miller's Crossing
that's not a gangsterkino, kid
Scarface
Boardwalk Empire
Sopranos, Casino, Mean Streets, White Heat, City of God, Menace II Society, Carlito's Way, Scarface
Is Donnie Brasco any good?
It's not bad but doesn't belong anywhere near the top echelon of gangster films.
Watch it if you've already watched everything else that's been mentioned in this thread.
>You will never watch Leone's first cut of Once Upon a Time in America
That shit is supposedly like 6 hours
Meh. I'd happily watch it now. Binge watching has changed viewing habits. I'd wonder if people would be remotely off-put by a runtime like that if it were presented in an episodic manner.
>I'd wonder if people would be remotely off-put by a runtime like that if it were presented in an episodic manner.
Probably not
It's mainly the thought of having to watch something long in one go, because most people don't put movies on hold
Yeah, I suppose. I love my annual Lawrence marathon though. I couldn't imagine not watching it all in one go.
Any idea if that footage for OUATIA is still in existence?
Kickstarter campaign or some bullshit could get it up and going. I'd happily buy a blu-ray if it was just two parts. I bet you get normies to eat it up if it were 6 parts. Fuck, get netflix to re-cut and re-release it and you'll get some cunts watching it.
>Any idea if that footage for OUATIA is still in existence?
Probably not. But aren't there a bunch of different versions already? I could've sworn the one I watched on netflix missed some stuff
Might have been the original Euro cut. It's 20 minutes shorter than the extended director's cut. Can't remember the exact time but it was like just shy of four hours where the extended is like 4 hr and 10 mins.
also an excellent pleb filter
I like this gangster flick
Pure trash.
When L.A. Confidential exists no one should ever like Gangster Squad.
Do Triad films count? Election is a masterpiece while Election 2 is great. Second sequel coming soon...
aaaaaaaaaaaand your a pleb
Explain the strengths of Gangster Squad to a pleb like me in terms I can understand.
The Long Good Friday
Miller's Crossing and Road to Perdition are awesome
Narcos
Casino
The Sopranos
Angels With Dirty Faces
White Heat
Little Ceaser
G-Men
The Public Enemy
/kino/
Yeah, because if you liked that pile of shit you most likely are one. That movie doesn't work at all as a gangster film nor as a noir film.
scarface
original and remake
The Roaring Twenties
>The Public Enemy
Do you mean Public Enemies with Johnny Depp?
I hope not. I was scanning this thread to see if that movie got mentioned and I was proud of Sup Forums it wasn't.
Public Enemies is utter shit. I don't know how they managed to make gun fights boring but they did.
No, mong.
THE Public Enemy ...with Cagney
Now get with the shimmy or fly the coop
>Public Enemy
OUT
That movie is just so fucking bad
...
bugsy malone
Godfather 3
Public Enemies.
The Untouchables isn't great per se, but it's comfy as fuck.
>Public Enemies
The Valachi Papers (1972). Charles Bronson. Can't go wrong.
Def these ------ Casino, Sopranos, Scarface
THE Public Enemy. Cagneys The Public Enemy. Ya low brow twat
