Mike Oldfield - Ommadawn
>can't have cringe-inducing lyrics if you have no lyrics

>OP asked for prog albums
>post punk albums

Rush- All of their albums

Queen -- News of the World

Also all of their singles.

>punk
user....

Hail the sun is industrial prog rock.

How about excellent lyrics?

define "cringe-inducing lyrics"

...

sorry, you just have to deal with some cheese when it comes to prog.

Henry Cow's stuff

You can thank Phil Collins for less pretentious lyrics. He managed to blend prog and pop very well on this album. Please Don't Ask is probably the most emotional song from Genesis, you can really feel Phil Collins' pain from his divorce.

This, honestly. Jethro Tull are outliers in prog for a couple of reasons, one of them being that their lyrics are really fucking great, and not just for prog standards.

preach

This album impresses me because Wilson manages to not slip into grandpa lyrics mode for once in his life. Great release.

>Cringe
Kys yourself

>PUP
what the fuck

You need some Peter Hammill and Van Der Graaf Generator. Robert Wyatt too.

Patrick, is that you?

>wants to listen to prog rock
>focusing on the lyrics
>bitches when they're too formal and poetic for his ratchet ass
>meanwhile insane music is happening in the background
>all this is lost on OP

Just fucking sack up and listen to the classics you little bitch. Zappa, King Crimson, Yes, Rush, etc. When you get through that, start listening to jazz fusion (Mahavishnu Orchestra, Weather Report, Return to Forever, Soft Machine, etc). By then you will know how to progressive music properly without whining about the lyrics because they aren't aesthetically appealing to your phony hipster personality.

>Phil Collins Genesis
>good prog

Brand X and early Genesis were the peaks of his career. This is an objective fact.

You could've made your point even stronger without all those petty insults. But hey, who wants to listen to big words and think about anything? I would also like to add that by OP's logic Bob Dylan isn't worth listening to, because nothing particularly instrumentaly interesting is happening.

It has a few Irish lyrics, might be too much for OP's low self esteem, Would recommend Hergest Ridge.

I mean you kinda have to eliminate 95% of prog to find any lyrics at all since it's mostly instrumental

Insults is what makes Sup Forums interesting, otherwise it would just be some faggy reddit board where everyone agrees and pats eachothers backs.

>he hasn't listened to trick of the tail

Trick Of The Tail is last good Genesis album.

This just sounds like modern mathcore/technical post hardcore. And it's crap.

can't complain about lyrics if you don't know what they're saying

>Wind & Wuthering
>Seconds Out
>Duke

Not only are you wrong but you're fucking wrong.

Take it easy, man
