It's completely different. It has some lo fi garage stuff but it also has everything from noise pop to art rock tracks on it. The production is similarly raw but a little cleaner on some tracks. It's really just a big mishmash of Sam's ideas. Yeah Lonely Boy is insanely good

Goddamn, I really need to listen to Melodrama. I loved Pure Heroine but was not too hyped on Green Light.
I never got why Sleep Cycle got so much love here. I generally like AnCo and I think Sleep Cycle is the best thing that any of them have done in the past 7 years, but it's still only a 3.5/5 to me. I did listen to Just Am on acid though and that was unreal.
I also need to check out loveliescrushing. You really weren't feeling Emotion at all though? I have it a 3 because some of those singles are absolute pop gems.
I listened to the last album Fire! put out, I think it was called She Sleeps or something, and wasn't too hot on it. Fire! Orchestra on the other hand blows me away.
