i've read the screenplay for the first episode of The Deuce and it's fucking stellar. right on par with Simon's other work. Pelecanos co-wrote it.

i dug Girls for the first two seasons. or first season and a half. it was refreshing to see these obnoxious characters go about their daily lives not to mention it was hilarious. i think some audiences have difficulty with schadenfreude watching. anyways, the show got repetitive so i quit watching.
wasn't the new Perry Mason reboot with Downey Jr and Pizzolatto recently announced, too? that's something to look forward to if only to see if Pizzolatto can strike gold again like the first season of True Detective.
