QI, Would I Lie to you , Nevermind the buzzcocks
Shows:
Misfits (first two seasons)
Inbetweeners (first two seasons)
Garth Marenghis Dark Place
I.T. Crowd (2nd season)
Black Adder 2nd season onwards.
Off top of my head
Am I allowed to say Black Books, or is that forbidden?
If you like dance music watch People Just Do Nothing, i just found out that there's a second series and the third one is just coming out. I watched the first as it was released and it was fucking great. Gonna watch the new ones soon
>I can't actually think of many British comedy films...
Here, let me help you out.
>laugh track
It's shit, user
This one is p good. Just short enough that none of the sketches get played out.
i can vouch for Armando Iannucci show, this is one of my favourite sketches of all time
Is "The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret" considered American or British?
i started watching misfits a couple of months ago and i just kind of stopped at the middle of the fourth series, i just have no drive to continue watching it. Nathan and Simon were the best characters. Rudy is ok too
Literally GOAT
Darkplace is the greatest series ever created. Not too many people have actually seen it, though.
...
Well, it was adapted from a stage show they did... I can't imagine it would've been different were the track wasn't there.
>british comedy thread
>all these aloof and sophisticated shows
Right. Most brits watch 8 out of 10 cats does countdown and mock the week.
Chewing the Fat and Still Game for Scottish keks
An Idiot Abroad
anything with matt berry
I think you need to be from the south of England to enjoy that. I don't mean that in an insulting way. Just in the sense of 'getting it'.
Much the same way that it helps to be from central Scotland to 'get' Limmy's Show or Burnistoun.
>Still Game
New series filming as we speak! Fucking yaaaaaaassssssssss man!!!
shooting stars
I much prefer That Mitchell and Webb Look to Peep Show.
Limmy's Show
I'M A ONE TRACK LOVER
>...are we the baddies?
Always gets a chuckle out of me.
League of Gentleman
What the fuck are you talking about?
Can you explain that inane post of yours?
Yes I'm holding you accountable.
The birds are tidier in Burnistoun
Recommending Darkplace is the only reason I opened this thread.
Monsoon Moon and his aggressive mushroom elbow patch..
Snuff Box, Toast of London
Darkplace is like the Psychonauts of TV shows, everyone claims it's a hidden gem which kind of defeats that whole idea
...
Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy?
...
The Fucking Thick of it for Fucking Fuck Sake ye Cunts
Man Stroke Woman
...
I ain't sucked on no black teat sir...
...
>British comedy films
It's true, now that you mention it, I can't think of many either.
A Fish Called Wanda (half American)
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Alpha Papa
Ali G: Indahouse
...
Nuns on the Run?
Where are all the British comedy films?
...
This is a horrid reminder about the birth of the chav culture that plagues the UK.
The one where the eternal anglo menace is finally wiped out once and for all
...
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
Shaun of the Dead
Anything with Chris Morris and Armando Iannucci involvement is essential.
But my other favourites are
Monkey Dust, 15 Storeys High,
Green Wing, Nighty Night, Darkplace/Man To Man, TV Offal, Black Books and Ideal.
Pic related is probably my favourite brit-com film
...
>Turn on ITV at 3 AM
Fuck off Merkel
love Snuff Box
...
Nice hivemind. Quality film right there.
whats that one British show that was made in the 80s with a punk guy as one of the leads. I cant remember anything other than that
Aye, It's fucking hilarious. It's the real hidden gem of English comedy
these
The Young Ones? I haven't watched it but it's gonna be that one
thats the one, thanks mate
The Young Ones?
Cats does Countdown IS quite amusing, though.
Plus, Rachel Riley is well fit.
>Turn on Channel 4 at 3 AM
You can't recommend Brass Eye without The Day Today
...
That's the good stuff
You just reminded me that Bottom exists.
I'll take my waifu over your wee ned tramps any day.
a single episode of little britain
>turning on Channel 4 at 3am in that half-asleep state and finding Jam
...
>"What a kerfuffle!"
Fuck me.... JAM.!!!!
Brilliant..

>My rose has left me
>I'm in a mood
>she's gone to kenya
>with the bloke from allied carpets
>she wasn't immunised
>that's a legal requirement
>she's increasingly slapdash
>since we bought that new hearth rug
>she couldn't have children
>that didn't stop us from trying
>we were turned down for adoption
>because of her bizarre appearance
>O rose how we loved you
>but where are you now?
>alone with your salesman
>you adulterous cow
Best show.

I watched Darkplace when it was originally aired. I immediately jumped on MSN messenger and told my mates to "fucking stick on Channel 4 now!"

Agreed. Forget the movie though.
I miss Vic & Bobs shows
I disagree.
2>4>3>1
4>3>2>1
It literally got better as it went along.
'Allo 'Allo
Red Dwarf
Excellent taste user.
>tfw limmy's show is nae moar
>tfw limmy pitched a single camera sitcom based around adventure call with falconhoof as the main and it wasnae picked up
Limmy should do a kickstarter, make that show anyway.
When that show first aired I could not wait for the following week...Also, definitely the best piss take of Scotland ever "Scotch Mist" As a Scot, I laughed my fucking arse off start to finish.. "Sorry, I have no salt to go with that."
Kill jester.
ahahahahahahahahahahaha...
Greetings traveler
I was at his live show last night. He said the BBC just want him to do more Limmy's Show and nothing else. They fucked him off about the sitcom ideas. And interestingly he said he's burnt his bridges with Charlie Brooker because he couldn't contribute to Weekly Wipe due to being too busy with writing his book.
...
I respectfully disagree. Two has some of the best bits in the whole series. Three was great too. At leads we both agree one was the shits.
Blue Jam is absolute Radiokino
Limmy strikes me as the kind of guy who doesn't give a shit about climbing the ladder or playing the game tbqh. He seems more like the kind of guy whos happy just doing what makes him happy and if that ends up with him just doing streams and writing a book now and then he probably wouldnt give a shit.
Might be talking out my arse but if he really wanted to push his career hard as fuck I'm sure he'd have found a way to write the book and appear on weekly wipe.
