Despite what everyone says about it being 'too brutal' Jesus actually was beaten just as bad as he was in the movie. They examined the shroud of turin and found he was whipped many more times than any normal human could before dying of shock. I dont think its torture porn. I think it is a fairly accurate depiction of Jesus's crucifixion, or at least the pain he went through. The scene where he says "Amen amen I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise" to the criminal being crucified with him still gives me goosebumps.
