Stranger Things

Stranger Things

PLOT SPOILER
Why did he tell the bad men where to find El?

Because it was the only upper hand he had. It saved him and Joyce, and gave them chance to find and save Will, too. Otherwise he would be killed, Joyce probably too, and Bad Guys would find El anyway, because there was no one else to protect her, save for three geeky kids

I seriously have no idea guys. He is the reason that El disappeared and it was never addressed before the ending.

But he left her eggos in the forest

What did they talk about when he got in the car?

How 'bout dem knicks?

He was smart enough to work out they wouldn't kill her but they'd kill him this time

Wasn't explained, but unless they left it out to pick up in season 2, it's possible they were just telling him to keep his mouth shut about what Brenner did, Eleven and all this mess basically.

I feel like he traded one life for another. It may have been inevitable that they catch up with El but his character has now done a serious wrong and will have to pay for it.

Eggos aren't enough.

>I feel like he traded one life for another
Possibly, yeah, especially if we assume that he gave up El to save Will. But given that Will is probably dying/turning into a monster, it didn't go that smoothly.

>Eggos aren't enough
Why not? I've been wondering if it's just a sentimental gesture, or something more (like a proof that Eleven still exists somewhere in some form and he's the only one aware of that

its ok, el is prob his dead daughter because of the lion toy of el's being same as the one in daughters hospital room

plus, the outside world is killing her. bad men will at least work inside her physical perimeters .these kids r sucking her energy dry and suffering of other kids is too terrifying for her to encounter

shes not meant for this world,yo

thats what sheriif hop is realizing when he's watching her float in pool,

I think the food is meant to show that El is still alive. We never saw her die. She's probably hiding in the upside down but that's pretty stupid because she hates that place and it's deadly.

bingo. i really think el escapes occassionally ,romps around, and gets just enough outside world not to fry her senses/emotions

>lion toy

Will had the same lion toy in his Castle Byers, and El doesn't look Hop's daughter at all

I hope you're right

>prob his dead daughter
She was stolen from her brain dead mom after the gov pumped her full of LSD and told her she miscarried.
This is explained in episode 6 or 7

I think El IS the Demogorgon; it's a psychic manifestation of her ID. He leaves food for whatever new manifestation she is now, and she has been crossing over again from time to time.

>you will never protect her smile

If Demogorgon is her ID, is she aware of its killings? Can't she stop him from within? I think you might be right because in the final scene her eyes became red, which might suggest that her supernatural goes beyond magical abilities.

The Demigorgon existed in the upsidedown before El came along. El just visited that plane of existence because she's a freaky psychic.

The egg shows that these things reproduce and the slug proves that there are other forms of life in the upside down unless
the slug is a Demigorgon baby and Will is infected and going to give birth alien style.

Her eyes were red and she was bleeding from ears/nose because she was using her powers.

Not if time is a flat circle. Meaning (memeing) that the program thought they were uncovering something but we're really CREATING something the whole time.

anybody have webms from that tripfag Araya?

but she never had red eyes before

what webms were they?

>'Today we make contact'

Clearly meaning that they found something they didn't know about before.
Also the gate isn't tied to El. The Demigorgon can come and go and make new gates to the upside down whenever it wants. El is just a traveler.

We have to assume that it took a lot of power to keep an extradimensional being pinned to a wall.
Also she was drained from everything else that happened. She was at her limit and pushed herself further which caused her extreme bodily harm.

How did El even escape in the first place? Plot holes like this ruin series.

were you not fucking watching the show?

everything went to hell when they tried to contact the creature and he formed a portal, she just escaped in the chaos of it all

We'd never seen her exert that much power before I suppose

So is he in charge of their operation now?

>she just escaped in the chaos
So, like I asked, how did she escape?

>that CPR scene

Everyone talking about El's sacrifice and this is the scene that broke me

Am I the only one who thought El's voice sounded incredibly sexy and nice overall?

He wanted to take Froggo to the Snow Ball himself.

A traveler who does a Ben Kenobi and disappears killing the big bad, huh?

Did anyone else fucking hate the bullies? They were just pure evil clichés that had nothing to offer. Just like most bullies in 80s movies now that I think about it.

Through that tunnel where the science teacher found a piece of her hospital gown she was wearing.

>COME ON KID
;__;

Yeah but they didn't really show how she got out of the isolation tank as everyone was fleeing for their lives. They clearly needed to help her in and out, and the chaos of the Demogorgon is presumably when she escaped, so it doesn't really add up.

Will isn't infected by anything. The bathroom scene was a hallucination.

>Yeah but they didn't really show how she got out of the isolation tank as everyone was fleeing for their lives.

Well it's not like she has pychokinetic powers or anything.

you fuckers really need to be spoonfed don't you?

>sentimental gesture
He put the other food in a Tupperware container. It's clearly there to be eaten.

When I seen bathroom scene I thought that maybe a person who spent some time in upside-down, gains an ability to shift between both worlds. In other words, could Will become new El?
Also El states at one point she is the monster. It could mean that she literally is connected with it... or is a monster in a way that she has its powers to travel between dimensions.

And yet she had to crawl through a pipe to escape instead of just blowing out a wall. The scene is vague like every other mystery left in this show and it's dumber to jump to conclusions like she just blew out of a glass tank and found a pipe nearby leading directly outside. I'm betting they're deliberately saving it for season two, maybe someone else in there helped her escape.

Don't take things you see so literally. The area outside the bathroom window doesn't change into the Upside Down, because his hallucination is only the area around him. He wasn't living with giant slugs in his stomach for a whole month. He's been traumatised by the experience of fearing for his life for a whole week, like how Nancy was having a mini-breakdown after being in there for just a few minutes.

Yeah I consider this possibility too, that it's just a trauma and it won't lead to anything meaningful in next season. Although whole show was about supernatural, which is why my mind wandered away from down-to-earth explanations

Who will play Mike in the inevitable Stranger Things Xxx porn parody?

It's possible, but there's more evidence suggesting he's just seeing things. It would be much more interesting if Will did gain some ability to travel to the Upside Down, because if El's stuck there then maybe it's up to him to rescue her. Kind of a role reversal from the first season.

The protagonists had ridiculous plot armor.

>Cafe guy is murdered and has his suicide faked just because he spoke to El, doesn't even know she has powers
>Hopper breaks into the fucking lab and SEES THE GATE but they just knock him out and leave him in his trailer

Seriously, that first episode tried to build the organization as a serious threat but they acted like bumbling saturday morning cartoon villains in the later episodes.

Sup Forums doesn't understand trivial things in tv series, again, the thread.

White """"""""""people""""""""""" have no loyalty

>how she got out of the isolation tank as everyone was fleeing for their lives.
She just opened the portal/rift that time.
She escaped after that, when the monster came out from those gates.

The diner owner was made out to be a cool guy and then abruptly murdered to make the audience permanently uneasy for the safety of every other character. Nice little scriptwriting trick.

I'm sorry what? She was in the tank screaming then the Demogorgon burst out the wall.

(You)

God, series were so good at the begining and pretty nice in the middle. But last two episodes is so generic and stupid shit it's just shame. Waste of potential.

>Demogorgon burst
Not really, just rift opening.
She also was with different clothes in the water tank.

Wait nevermind, I see what you're saying now. Yeah it doesn't seem like the Demogorgon actually came out of the portal until the very first scene of the show. We still don't know exactly how El made a run for it though.

Go back to le'ddit, Sir.

they also kept trying to stop el by just aiming guns at her. no tranquilsers, not even shooting her when shes literally melting your brain.

in the diner, she kills two near instantly and gets away. does anyone in the entire organisation stop and think about that?

That's a cheap trick which was obvious as hell.

>mike why do you keep staring at my feet?
>b-because that's why friends do

what did he mean by this

HNGHHHH

If they gonna film it in 2022 I think they should keep the original actor for the sake of accuracy

he's the new caretaker of El who now is a mix of demigorgon and girl a Loligorgon if you will

hw understood the "bad men" were the only ones able to contain/protect her and it was the only way he could save will.

I was wondering that too.
Why wouldn't he just give them the wrong location to waste their time?

And why does dustin say "lando" when the organisation shows up, he couldn't possibly know it was hopper who ratted them out

Because he promised Wynona to find Will and I guess he was willing to trade El for him.
And that was the only thing he could do to not get both of them killed.

...

Is he wearing contact lenses or are his eyes just so naturally anime-huge?

In ST he sometimes looked almost weird because of that

Holy shit, I'm almost done with s1 and that little nigglet is so annoying. Wish he would die, but I suppose they need a token sassy nigger devils advocate.

they're anime huge
Makes him so qt

I thought the part where the bullies threated to cut off their teeth and tried to fucking murder one of them was just plain stupid. No real bully would do that since they know they would be in serious shit and their moms wouldn't be able to bail them out.

I like the directorial style, the kid actors were amazing compared to what you usually get.

The plot left many a threads loose for S2, had there not been an S2 announced quickly I'd have been very disappointed due to the holes and questions. Why is anyone even allowed to live? You've just sparked an investigation into the govt itself etc

At some points the plot was surprising and nice with the character development, but felt the ending or rather lack of death to be playing it very, very safe.

Monster rules don't seem defined. Will managed to run away for 5-6 days, seemed to learn quick it was sound/blood smell based. Where/when portals spawned seemed too fucking convient for the plot, numerous times characters go full horror movie cliche stupid, splitting up, investigating the clear 'it's magic portal of death, I'll just go right the fuck in, even though it breaks all laws of reality I know of '. These characters don't get punished for it either, can't decide if it's acceptable twist on the horror side of things or just bad writing because they can't just kill everyone, for some reason.

It looked nice, plot was meh, shit load of loose threads.

I wasn't really bothered by most of that because it was intentionally full of 80s horror cliches

I agree about the loose ends though

>shit load of loose threads

I still hope they'll take care of them in s02

qt or spooky

Do the killings of the towns people line up with when she's hungry? If he's fed in our world her ID/gorgo version is satisfied, if she's not fed it goes hunting. Doesn't explain the large number of bodies, but we know one guy walked through, but not how many died in the initial breach and if it came through to clean up and take all the bodies back (doesn't explain how decayed they are though).

Yea, we've not seen the actual escape, just that they hid the tapes of her escape that night, but there's no structural damage to indicate the escape itself, as it would have been after opening the portal. She'd killed at least 2 guards by that point, and we don't know what gave her the push to run away. The government jumps from 'one step ahead'/just as planned, to comical buffoons a fair bit as well. There's hundreds or more people involved here who are fully aware of what's going on, how they treat people and the clandestine nature of this facility/town, but how they are portrayed varies so much.

>there are people on Sup Forums RIGHT NOW who don't like Eleven

If she doesn't come back I'm canceling netflix

He did tell them where they were, but they went into the wrong building at first, no? This gave the kids some time to run away.

He knew there was no real opportunity to save her.

She was too valuable, they would have wiped the whole town off the map to get her back.

Better to focus on the child that he might could realistically save.

Yeah I agree on the consequences thing, wether or not they're going to turn it into a GoT style series where "nobody is safe" is still up in the air but there seemed to be absolutely no repercussions for Nancy and Jonathan going into the Upside Down. Like the monster fucking sees her and just runs around without doing anything, also when it pins Jonathan down it just slobbers on him, but in the other scenes it straight up murders Barb and Brenner's agents without the same hesitation or curiosity.

>And why does dustin say "lando" when the organisation shows up, he couldn't possibly know it was hopper who ratted them out

He couldn't *know*, but it was the most likely explanation. Hopp & Joyce head to the lab, then suddenly the lab's whole security force is banging at the doors? Dustin's goofy and likes to eat, but he's still a fairly intelligent twelve year old, he can put two & two together.

>Why wouldn't he just give them the wrong location to waste their time?

Because he still had to get out of the lab when he rescued Will. If he sent them to the wrong place, he'd find them waiting for him.

Any recommendations of shows with good atmosphere like here? I'm ran out of good serials.

I think he cared most about getting Will back to the Byers. He also knows that they aren't going to stop searching and will find them eventually. He's making the best of a bad situation.

Twin Peaks
The Leftovers

True Detective

Thx, will check out The Leftovers.
About Twin Peaks - isn't it too old? I mean, old show are often look cheap and predictable
