Opinions?

Is this better than Pet Sounds or Sgt. Peppers?

It's better than a lot of recorded music

not as good as pet sounds, because it's an unfinished album. if it was finished properly and released in 1967 it probably would have been.

better than sgt. peppers? definitely

no it is not

good vibrations is a really good song tho

I'd put Smile behind Sunflower and Surf's Up desu

sunflower is overrated

Listen to it again.

i think the snl version of smile is the most accurate to 1967, and probably my favorite, but the 2011 release from the smile sessions is probably my AOTD. i think pet sounds is better, but it's better than any beatles album

Arguably the greatest piece of music ever, and definitely better than those albums.

snl version of smile?

could have been better than Pet Sounds. It's honestly so goddamn good, but too rough around the edges, if they let Brian go through with his vision it might have been the best album ever.

Better than Pet Sounds, worst than Sgt Pepper.

Do you guys think a "Sup Forums makes a SMiLE mix" project could ever work?

Is it weird that I love the 2011 SMiLE Sessions but I've never been able to get into Pet Sounds?

>Do you guys think a "Sup Forums makes a SMiLE mix" project could ever work?
it would be one of the worst albums ever made

This isn't a very good version on SMiLE to be honest.

>remove the old master painter
>move child is father of the man to 6
>put look (song for children) at 5
>replace im in great shape with holidays
perfect

>removing Gee
baka desu

I genuinely think it's the best pop album ever recorded, and it would be as revered as Sgt. Pepper had it been finished in the 60s. It is the funnest album to listen to, it's a shame that it was thrown away.

>Not using the 2004 version with a version of Good Vibrations with the original lyrics and the "hum de dum" passages
Best way to listen to SMiLE.

gee was made too late to be accurate to a 1967. but i like hearing it in the smile sessions's version of smile
i prefer the lyrics how they were originally released

>i prefer the lyrics how they were originally released
That's what I'm talking about. The version of Good Vibrations used by SLN uses Tony Asher's lyrics. I think it's rather clumsily edited.

no it doesn't. i just listened to the first verse of sln, smiley smile, and smile sessions and they all have the same lyrics

>the fade out to holiday

Why not?
SLN used the mix that Brian prepared for the album, and Gee wasn't in it.
No, you are mistaken. He uses the regular single version in his 1967 mix

>No, you are mistaken. He uses the regular single version in his 1967 mix
they all have the same lyrics. what are you referring to?
