I had to play arkham asylum for 20 hours and watch dark night 3 times until I erased his performance from my mind.

I went in totally unbiased and I was one of the people who defended this version because you never know what it turns out to be like on the big screen

that being said, I watched the german version and the character was horrible. the voice was handled very poorly so the character as a whole came off as a mixture between joker, penguin and some ordinary crook

the tattoos were horrible too unfortunately. that scene where he covers his mouth to reveal the smiley tattoo was pure cringe

I don't have anything against new interpretations of characters, I'm actually all for something fresh that hasn't seen before

what grinds my gears is that it was just over the top and had no real sense most of the time. I just didn't get why he had the tattoos and what made them so important for his character. it didn't feel like the character shown would actually want and use tattoos the way he did

gotta watch the original version so I can take in the acting chops more but I'd say joker was the worst part about the movie

really liked the rest though. had more fun watching it than civil war. wasn't as good as x-men and deadpool though

Well Fox essentially had a second chance with Deadpool and even then they were reluctant after being forced into it by Ryan Reynolds, the director, the writers and pretty much every fan who saw the test footage.
And it ended up being a financial and critical success as well as the highest grossing R rated film ever made, so it goes to show how much studios know.

The absolute worst bit was "grape soda and bearskin rug" if there was a cringe-ometer, he hit an all time record with that line.

All his shit was cut the fuck up. I like that he's passionate about being the Joker but he needs to learn from this and bring a more balanced performance in the Batfleck movie.

They couldnt release a Directors Cut since according to David Ayer the original script was something entirely different than the theatrical cut.What i am talking about is WB have heavly changed everything about it.That is why the editing seems barebones and makes no sense most of the time.

The truth is, if they're put together, one is going to drag the other one down into the shits. It is possible that under Affleck's direction, it could turn out differently. But you know Affleck is going to look at Leto before production begins and say, "if you pull any of that horseshit on my set, I'll fucking kill you." Because in retrospect, every bit of that nonsense looks like an infuriating waste of time and energy. It didn't translate on set (Robbie gave the rat away, and Will Smith hates Leto now), and it DEFINITELY didn't translate on film (least-Joker-like Joker of all time buried under a pile of hyperbole and junior college talent-show-level performance).
