Wanna know what's the worst thing to have happened to tv and movies these past few years?

Wanna know what's the worst thing to have happened to tv and movies these past few years?

Fucking foreign or even worse, invented languages with subtitles forcing you to look at the screen. Made worse when these characters are already perfectly capable of speaking english anyway.

I'm perfectly capable of watching 30 hours of anime with subtitles, but when I watch a show that's either dubbed or in any of the languages I speak anyway, why is it that they keep forcing in scenes and characters speaking random sentences in different languages?
What's the point? Does it make the idiotic plot of Mr. Robot more realistic that one guy and his wife sometimes talk danish and swedish?

Does it honestly make sense that people still speak junk like dothraki when literally the whole world shares a common language?

The only time when I feel a different language is justified is when they use to to speak behind other peoples back. that one single time, where it makes sense.

What say you?

If you weren't American and knew how to properly read subtitles without them distracting you, you wouldn't even notice it.

Americans everyone

I'm not american and I can read subtitles while follow the moving pictures.

but i can't read subtitles when I'm not watching the screen. which i routinely do. I work on papers or play a game or go to sleep listening to shows.

i'm an adult now, I can't stop everything for 12 hours to watch a show anymore. I have to let a show run while doing my work or cleaning or cooking dinner.
and then, they throw in 5 minutes of gibberish or absolutely wrong german (because half the time, they're not even speaking the language right, they just add it for no reason whatsoever)

and its pissing me off

>watches movies
>doesn't look at the screen

Why don't you just listen to audio dramas or audio books if you don't have time to 'watch movies'?

>German
That explains it. The special snowflakes of Europe.

because I enjoy game of thrones or gotham more than audiobooks?

and how does that explain it? german is just the language I hear mangled the most in american television. spanish is mostly done pretty well, french almost as good, anything asian only if its done by asians. but german. german is the low point of languages even below russian.

You should check what languages they use in the show besides english it's usually specified on wikipedia

Listen to serial on Pandora. I had a long drive and that really came in clutch. Season 2 was more interesting imo so start there.

Apparently you dont enjoy it enough to just sit down and watch it.

Germany stop dubbing every goddamn tv/movie/porn

T. finnpoor

BECAUSE THEY SPEAK A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE YOU DENSE FUCK

DECENT KINO SCENES LIKE DAENERYS VS. THE SLAVE OWNER IN SEASON 3 L I T E R A L L Y COULDN'T HAPPEN OTHERWISE

BECAUSE WHEN TWO CHARACTERS WHO DON'T SPEAK THE SAME LANGUAGE MEET EACH OTHER, IT CREATES A CONTINUITY ERROR IF THEY BOTH SPEAK ENGLISH

but everyone, literally every illiterate and idiot in the 9 realms and beyond speaks the common tongue.

>americans refuse to read subtitles

>I'm perfectly capable of watching 30 hours of anime with subtitles

Go outside, kid.

Listen to the AGoT audiobook if you don't want to watch the screen, you fucking mong.

>i'm an adult now

OP is german, they dub everything in germany

Which is worse

>I'm perfectly capable of watching 30 hours of anime with subtitles

Someone post a reaction image of someone cringing

There are these things called FUCKING PODCASTS

AND WHEN THEY SPEAK A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE, THEY CAN USE IT TO TALK SHIT ABOUT YOU TO YOUR FACE

IT'S NOT HARD MAN

>but everyone, literally every illiterate and idiot in the 9 realms and beyond speaks the common tongue.
No they don't.

Daenerys' hot friend has to teach Grey Worm the common tongue.
