>Writer of 28 Days Later >has the shittiest third act in cinema history >Writer of Sunshine >has the shittiest third act in cinema history >Writer and director of Ex Machina >has the shittiest third act in cinema history
Is there something Hollywood isn't telling me when they keep hiring this guy?
>Writer of the Beach >Book is godlike apart from the final third
Juan James
I wonder if shes had sex yet
Christopher Murphy
> Writer of Dredd > A non-stop kinographic marvel from beginning to end
10 years in the Iso-Cubes, creep.
Jeremiah Stewart
>>Writer of Dredd >>Movies a shitty numale fest about how strong women are
James Gomez
Hope he doesn't fuck up Annihilation.
Jayden Hall
>writer of a movie that got boring 20 minutes in
Aaron Walker
That's why the most powerful women gets killed in the end. The whole movie is an Oedipus allegory you numbnuts. Please don't procreate.
Luke Hernandez
she has if you know what i mean
Tyler Johnson
Sunshine and Ex Machina have perfectly fine third acts. I haven't seen 28 days yet, but you're clearly a hopeless pleb.
Jordan Wood
To be completely honest here, Ex Machina is shit from the get go so shittiest 3rd act hardly matters.
Ian Kelly
Ex Machina was fine. Sunshine's was complete trash famalam.
Jayden Phillips
>expecting scifi and horror to be anything but shitty
Parker Moore
How to spot a pleb: >Ex Machina is shit from the get go
You made it real easy didn't you? Was it the big words that confused your little mind?
Lincoln Sanders
The same reason Hack Synder keeps getting hired. What people in corporate positions care about the most is not being responsible and having someone else to blame. >Dredd >shitty numale 0/10 shit bait
Connor Turner
>Sunshine and Ex Machina have perfectly fine third acts
If you're a total idiot that gets off on random violence, sure.
Jonathan Ross
>random violence None of that violence was random.
Kayden Ross
>ITS JUSTIFIED VIOLENCE BECAUSE LE CHARACTERS GOT THEMSELVES TO A PLACE WHERE THE STORY CAN SATE MY BLOODLUST
I wish the ending of Ex-Machina was more introspective rather than violence for the sake of violence
Camden Foster
You now realise that the title is a play of words with SEX MACHINE
Daniel Perez
>Was it the big words that confused your little mind? Nope. I was disappointed by ridiculous and illogical premise, dogshit dialogue, 6 million plot holes, 100% predictable story, Garlands continuous attempts to make Nathan the evil antagonist that is absolutely required in every murrican kino... when actually he is the only one with a sane approach to machine intelligence... or would be if the events werent presented in such a stupid and ridiculous context.
So yeah, thats my 2c. What are your arguments for the movie being good?
Christian Sanchez
>third act of ex machina >violence for it's own sake
parallel reality posting?
Camden Ramirez
The script is tight. The dialogue is true to what people in the tech industry would say. The acting is great. The atmosphere is palpable. The CGI is implemented immaculately.
The story doesn't only deliver a true turing test it also exposes the problems that are inherent to it and even produces a solution albeit an immoral one. It's something I've never seen done in a sci-fi movie and it's clear that Garland had done his homework on this subject.
But I guess you have to have some knowledge about the subject to appreciate to its fullest extent. I can understand that for a pleb these concepts must be hard to grasp on the first try.
Maybe read a book once in a while.
Liam Peterson
Im not sure we are even talking about the same movie. >Maybe read a book once in a while. Funny you should say that, i read more books than watch new movies and have been for a couple of years. 30-40 books a year and maybe 10 new movies, unfortunately the modern industry is mostly uninspiring and aimed at the lowest common denominator -audiences.
Adrian Allen
>>Writer and director of Ex Machina >>has the shittiest third act in cinema history
No
Elijah Allen
>violence for the sake of violence The androids killing Nathan was to show that his experiment failed and they were just sentient machines without emotions. Ava would have killed Caleb as well if he got in her way. That was the point of the movie, Nathan's experiment, to test if Ava had real emotions or not.
Nathan Lewis
>30-40 books a year and maybe 10 new movies
Kind of hard to believe coming from someone using hyperbole like: >ridiculous and illogical premise, dogshit dialogue, 6 million plot holes, 100% predictable story
If you read that much books you should have had your fill with premises that are even more ridiculous (which EM hadn't, the premise is actually pretty basic to sci-fi).
So I call bullshit on your story.
I bet you can't even name one actual plot hole in the movie. I'm even willing to bet you don't even know what a plot hole is.
Chase Ramirez
hyperbole: the thread
go rewatch event horizon, star trek into darkness and interstellar if you want to complain about terrible third acts.
28 days later is fine, ex-machinas is a little weak, and sunshines is definitely questionably executed (but thematically appropriate).. none of these are anywhere near the "worst" or even really that bad.
Carter Hernandez
>30-40 books a year
comics don't count, yo
Henry Carter
alex garland is a friend of my families. whos jel?
Cameron Perez
>event horizon It still gave me nightmares for a week. Those gory parts being shown in an instant wondering what you actually saw triggered some subconscious fear part of the brain.
Jason Flores
How can three movies have the shittest third acts of all time?
Justin White
>concepts sell tickets.
If that was the case, Andrew Niccol would have tons of blockbusters under his belt by now. He doesn't though.
Franchises and brand-recognition sell tickets. Sad but true.
Isaac Evans
I've heard people saying Ex Machina had a bad third act, and Sunshine's was definitely terrible, but where'd this idea that 28 days later's was bad come from all of the sudden?
Evan Ward
...
Tyler Morales
28DL's resolution seemed quite simplistic compared to the beautiful set-up.
Ryder Reed
Frankenstein's monster killing Frankenstein is such a cliche way to end a movie
Dominic Hernandez
Only beta cucks like Caleb hate Ex Machina's ending.
Eli Price
Faye Dunaway getting shot in the head is such a clichéd way to end a movie.
Nolan Walker
You should see the radical ending concept on the DVD and how bad the original ending was
28 Days Later current ending with the soldiers is p. shit because it's only been a month and they've already become depressed rapist psychos
Angel Rodriguez
Okay, name me a movie with the most perfect 3rd act.
Josiah Smith
Casablanca Double Indemnity Birdman Moonrise Kingdom Gattaca Silence of the Lambs Terminator
