How many times do you watch a film before you judge it as good or bad?

How many times do you watch a film before you judge it as good or bad?

Depends, usually twice, but I'll make an exception for one time if it's extremely far on one side or the other on the fence.

Mostly one time, but sometimes a repeat viewing is required.

4 times
>first time watch it normally
>second time watch it blindfolded
>third time watch it with no sound
>fourth time watch it normally again
This is the only way to truly appreciate a film. If you don't do this, you don't know shit about cinema.

One.
I don't understand people who watch a film more than one time. I never needed or wanted it.

>doesn't watch it upside down or underwater
>This is the only way to truly appreciate a film. If you don't do this, you don't know shit about cinema.
LMAO

Once.
If you have to watch a movie a second time for it to be retrospectively good then it wasn't good to begin with.

why is everyone quoting op
is this a bot thread wtf

it's common courtesy

once you complete autist.

>Croque Madaaaaaaaaaaayum son.
Depends on the movie. If it's something accessible like a summer flick, my feelings on it are pretty concrete after a single viewing, but there are plenty of movies my opinion has changed over multiple viewings. Guardians of the Galaxy comes to mind. The first time I saw it, I chuckled a bit and thought it was alright. Second time around it annoyed the ever loving shit out of me.

I don't even watch most movies once. Total waste of time. Sup Forums does all the work for me, and I just read about whether it was good or bad and why, and then I can hold conversations about it with other people.

Meanwhile, I spend my actual time doing more worthwhile things, like playing video games or masturbating.

True patrician right here

you're the hero Sup Forums deserves, but not the one it needs right now.

>he doesn't flog himself at 5 minute intervals while crocdiles gnaw on his gonads as the movie plays in front of his night vision goggled eyes

p.l.e.b

you've never watched a film twice?

I did, and everytime it bored me to death.
Same with books. I hear and see everything that happened in my head as I watch/read, and it bore me to death. I don't see the point.

Discussing about a movie or a book, what it was trying to say or show, etc, is interesting.

Hit post too soon.
It's interesting to discuss a movie or a book, but rewatch or reread it is not. At least for me.

Once on 2x speed for the first filter. Then 1.5x, 1x, and then only true possible kino qualifiers get .5x

if you watch a movie more than once, you're fucking retarded

>everytime it bored me to death.
even re-watching a film you loved?

>It's interesting to discuss a movie or a book
i agree
>but rewatch or reread it is not.
but doesn't it depend on the film or book? aren't there times when you're in a certain headspace and think ''i'd love to watch this movie/ i'd love to read this book i enjoyed?

>even re-watching a film you loved?
Yes. It never entertains me. I have a good time once, and that's it. I can't watch it again, because I can't get immersed in it. The magic is gone.

It's the same with books, videogames and tv shows.

I can watch a play that I know more than once tho, because the comedians are different and the direction is different too

If I make it to the 30 min mark and still like it I'll watch it. If it is bad, I'll stop watching it.

you must have exceptional memory then. because it sounds like you appreciate different interpretations of something you enjoy. most people don't remember details of a movie/tv show/game to the point of boredom after watching it one time.

i give them 30 minutes. if i'm not into it, go fuck your mother. there's plenty of other films to watch.

I do have great memory, so maybe that's it.

But yeah, everytime I reread or rewatch something, or even when I talk about a movie or book I enjoyed, I remember it slowly and then I'm bored. I don't recall every details of course, so I understand people who rewatch something to try to see a different interpretation or something they missed.

I do rewatch movies that I didn't follow or stopped in the middle, because I was not in the mood or thinking about something else. But well, everyone does that.
