YuroBowl 2017 Round of 16: Houston FC vs. Oakland City FC

It's nearly that time of year again, as earth's eighth greatest sport starts its post-season.

The Raiders travel to south Texas having recently lost their QB Derek Carr to a broken leg, leaving them playing like a team with both keepers off injured and a midfielder between the sticks. They were unlucky in getting pipped to the AFC West title right at the end of the season on goal difference, meaning they dropped down into a wildcard spot instead of having the week off.

The Houston Texans were the best of a bad bunch in the AFC South, paying $72 million a year for services of the handegg equivalent of a dabbing Joe Allen.

All welcome, even Yanks, get comfy.

Sauce on the divegrass-style NFL badges? IIRC it was football meets football or something like that but I can't find it through a Google search for whatever reason.

Proud Englishman Menelik Watson starting for the Raiders. One of the current Brits in the NFL.

Nah, I'll catch the results in the morning

>not playing mexican anthem

>singing in a way that people can't join in
>whooping and hollering mid-anthem

Knock it off please

>Raiders have a player called Jihad

This is what their anthem is always like. The fans never sing it. Embarrassing

As if the point over there is for people to join in. Ameriboos just stand there, teary-eyed, hearts swelling with freedum

Oh dear.

>terrible announcers
>hideous graphics
>closed roof

It's getting difficult to defend this shit, especially considering how good it used to be.

Blackish - please tell me non-Yanks saw the ad for that show.

I'm watching it on Sky Sport and it goes to a studio analysis when there's an advert break for Americans

looks like a great show, ameribro

The last time I watched Connor Cook it was that game when Michigan State beat Michigan on the last play of the game due to a fumbled snap

That sequence pretty much sums up the Raiders franchise since 2003.

The yuro playoff threads always feel so comfy

now, if they didnt have that stupid play that led to pick, this would've been great nnow it's good.

just need to start playing.

>FRAUDSWEILER

I honestly just wanna see Connor cook not play too shit poor dude

They just need to keep the running play work for a few more drives until the QB gets into the groove.

reportin

D stepping up.

What's going on in here?

So how do Texanbros feel they get to fuck wit osweiler for another year while he takes all your bread

Prefer the Raiders to win.

Giants, friend.

They're literally trying to mimic the Jim Nantz Masters commercials on CBS, and it's just turrble.

Did anyone see that Wendys commercial with the bee in it just then? Did Wendys just meme in an actual commercial

wasnt paying attention, but why wouldnt they?

Okay when does Memeweiller stop playing good

He carried the Buncos to the playoffs last year and got dropped for it, now he's out for blood

We're in the bizarro world where he's a playoff GOD

>round of 16
>12 teams left, only 8 playing this week
Sillies.

"One for the purists" I think you could call it.

This is like watching two bald men fighting over a comb.

>one for the purists

That cheekiness warrants some Swizzle...

>get kicked in the head
>flag

The Raiders really have left themselves an uphill climb after that unfortunate reverse.

What happened?
Yuros came to their senses?

Dunno, usually its more active

It's a terrible game with terrible presentation - I'm only here out of habit - the eurothread during the NFL playoffs are the only reason I come to Sup Forums beyond the Olympics, the World Cup and the occasional darts shit.

... and thus ends a terrible game - hope the next one is a bit, er, better.

So are we still doing this, or are all our eurobros asleep?

Eh, a bit quieter than before and I don't think the shit game helped, second game kicks off 1.30am here so even later on the continent.

Tomorrow should be better though, 6.30pm and 9.30pm UK time.

Hopefully better.

Meanwhile, "Roger Goodell tries to get to as many playoff games as he can."

Now, I hate Roger Goodell, so this will color what follows - the man is paid more than $30M a year as NFL commish - except where literal flight time is impossible, he should be at every fucking game, preferably in the seats so people can dump beer on him.

Sorry eurofriends, you'll never get to hear Pat Summerall call a game.
