not equivalent. you need some level of theoretical grounding to read and discern meaning from text.

lol, not "equivalent" to what? now you're just creating extra conditions. this is the comparison:
>likes music = likes reading books.
understanding is not part of the equation.
says he likes != likes
if you go around saying how much you like reading books, hell yeah I'd expect you to have at least tried writing something in your life. and is there really a problem with expecting that of people? when people talk about their horseshit hobbies as if it's special or interesting that they just "like music" it's pretty common to ask "do you play anything? you in a band?"
How can you not play 1 single instrument?
>says he likes literature
>has never written a novel
see
Remember when Jerma had less than 50k subs and only made tf2 videos.
Twice in one day
>if you go around saying how much you like reading books, hell yeah I'd expect you to have at least tried writing something in your life.
Lol. Yeah, we all write papers for school. There is a difference between that and writing a fucking book lmao. Have you been to a library or bookstore? Almost all of the "bibliophiles" have not tried to write a fucking book.
>and is there really a problem with expecting that of people? when people talk about their horseshit hobbies as if it's special or interesting that they just "like music" it's pretty common to ask "do you play anything? you in a band?"
Now you're entirely ignoring the statement in OP's meme post and creating a better but irrelevant conversation.
except I do. I just think the argument is retarded.
>same user too
you are very welcome
>he likes to eat
>he can't cook
Wrong. You do know how to write.
I figured out that if I make enough money I can just pay people to cook for me..... lmao has that ever occurred to you
This. I've never cooked an actual meal in my life and I'm the healthier than all my loser friends that cook. All these fucking cucks cooking their own food. Learn how to use money properly and you can be the laziest person ever. I don't even work any more and the cash is still raking in
playing an instrument is hard, reading a book is hard, any retard can listen to music, and I'm a retard, so there's your answer.
DAMN.

I'm sorry OP but are you fucking retarded?
Shit was so cash
m888 Ill tell you right now, you'll never look back. Music is so much better after learning an instrument because you understand whats gone into to making it. It's such a step forward, seriously.
No but you are. Do yourself a favour and learn an instrument that is in your favourite genre alot. You will never look back
>m888 Ill tell you right now, you'll never look back. Music is so much better after learning an instrument because you understand whats gone into to making it. It's such a step forward, seriously.
I played trumpet for years. Got tired of it, was boring as fuck after a while. I sometimes wonder why I didn't switch to another instrument, never occurred to me and no one suggested it. Nowadays I don't have the motivation to learn an instrument. Besides it sounds to much when you live in an apartment. I can't bear to know that my neighbors are hearing every note I play.
>does not like music
>can play many instruments
Well you can *like* music, books, film, etc without knowing how to make them, of course, but every opinion yo will have about it is completely irrelevant.
You can *be* a male psychoanalyst, but your every opinion will be completely irrelevant, because you can not make/give birth to people.
damn...

Readers often ask me why I did not become a musician, since my essays, indirectly, tell a musician what music he should or should not be making. Other readers accuse critics of being merely frustrated people who would like to be the very musicians and stars they "criticize". Again, in my case it goes back to my passion for history and for knowledge. Pythagora, who had a mystic attitude towards things, thought that the audience was more important than the athletes: the athletes were entertaining the audience but the audience was "contemplating" the athletes, and to Pythagora that was more important. Understanding nature was more important than being a part of it. In a sense, when you "contemplate" nature you manage not to be part of it, to be something else, above and beyond it, almost divine. Pythagora thought that this "contemplation" of nature led to logic. To Pythagora religion and mathematics were the same: the pure mathematician was a religious prophet, and viceversa. Contemplation was the key to understanding the universe, and it led to logical explanation of what the universe is. Logic was so ubiquitous in the universe that Pythagora thought that numbers were the ultimate reality. In particular, he discovered the relationship between numbers and music. Music is logic. All of this was evident to him as the "listener", not as the "maker" of music.
>says he likes porn
>he's a virgin
>The value of art depends on the values of the art critic
>Most art is born as imitation, not innovation
>The critic, not the artist, is the one who defines innovation, and rates it
>The artist is merely a vehicle for the aesthetic/ideology of the critic
>The critic is the real artist
ARTISTS BTFO
Well my favorite genre is hip-hop, so does that mean I should learn how to produce? Producing seems like it would take much more skill than playing an instrument.
