Hey Sup Forums, what horror movies would you guys recommend?

Hey Sup Forums, what horror movies would you guys recommend?

idk user horror is a pretty varied genre which flicks do you like? Grave Encounters 2 is a pretty good follow-up if you haven't watched it yet

I did like it actually, and I am actually thinking about some obscure or lesser known horror. Open to different types though.

The Taking of Deborah Logan

I-is there nudity in it?

This is the first film since The Grudge that scared the absolute fuck out of me.

Watch alone in the dark, puss

No exorcist, no blairwitch
Just die

He said he wanted less obscure stuff. Those 2 are still popular. Chances are he's seen them already.

Stranger Things and the upcoming remake of Stephen King's it both share qualities that I enjoy in ćíńémá

1408
innkeepers
changeling
mirrors
both dark waters usa and jp

dunno i have a thing for old buildings

>Black Christmas (1974)

Pretty good list, but I do not understand the appeal of Session 9; I WANT to, because I know many people with good taste who love it, but for the fucking life of me, I cannot understand.

Boooring... but totally worth it for THAT one moment.

I miss high budget horror movies man

Kill List
Creep
Asylum Blackout
Eden Lake
The Mothman Prophecies

black swan and cabin in the woods as horror movies kek

good one user

Top contribution to the thread, m8.

Same. It's spooky and all, but Transsiberian by the same director does a much better job with building suspense and dread.

Black Swan? A little bit. Cabin in the Woods? Most definitely. It seems like a comedy, but it's a horror, too. Just like Scream, Return of the Living Dead, Re-Animator, etc.

I'll always say that The Crow, Terminator and American Psycho aren't horror, though. I don't get why they're sometimes labeled as that.

Nice and constructive post user.

ty capeshiter now you can return to disscuss your capekinos

It just really struck a chord with me. I know it's not the scariest film, but I had goosebumps throughout about 50% of it.

Agreed

thanks I will
thanks I will
thanks i will

Wow you really convinced me with those hot opinions.

here's a pretty good modern werewolf flick

If someone says watch noroi, dont fucking do it

Check out Noroi.

>that whole list
>The Cat People
>Phantasm
>Session 9
>Cabin in the Woods
Can we be friends?

Hell yeah we can. The Tall Man is an underrated villain. I remember seeing him in one of those AMC Fear Fest commercials.

>>Cabin in the Woods (2012)
>horror

Why do people always start horror rec shitposting threads with Grave Encounters?

That movie was so fucking bad it literally gave me AIDS

Don't watch Candyman when you are 11 years old, it will fuck you up good

REC
The Evil Dead
Wolf Creek
Hellraiser
Pandorum

Session 9 I think is a little better if you understand that scenes were cut which point to the madness overtaking the character to be distinctly supernatural in origin. Whether or not it is a demon or the location itself is still up for debate, but it is true that the reason he's going crazy is because of an outside force, not an inside struggle.

this is the shittest tier list ive ever fucking seen on tv
lmao

Heck, I got a list of recommends myself.
Many of these are actually, factually garbage, and some of them aren't horror as much as they are dark high-fiction, but for the most part they're horror.

The Corridor (2010).
Absentia (2011).
Noroi: The Curse (2005).
The Tunnel (2011).
In the Mouth of Madness (1994).
Session 9 (2001).
--------------------------------
May (2002).
Nightbreed (1990).
Home Movie (2008).
Society (1989).
Cronos (1993).
Splinter (2008).
--------------------------------
The Keep (1983).
Dead Birds (2004).
Dagon (2001).
The Last Exorcism (2010).
Darkness (2002).
Dark City (1998).
--------------------------------
Banshee Chapter (2013).
The Last Winter (2006).
The Mist (2007).
Resolution (2012).
Dark Was the Night (2014).

Final Prayer/The Borderlands (alternative titles) (2013).
Spring (2014).
Videodrome (1983).
The Last Wave (1977).
Stalker (1979).
Possession (1981).

I'm currently working on another bundle of 6, but I'm only, like, 3 films into making it, so it's gonna be a while.

The Loved Ones
The Borderlands
Creep
The Haunting
Session 9
Ravenous
Black Christmas
The Last Exorcism
The Houses October Built
Madman
Fire In The Sky
Devil's Pass

Seeing a lot of repeat offenders in these lists, maybe I should start with those.

Dont watch it follows, its probably the worst hipster horror turd ever

Its not bad, it was probably just overhyped for you.

The Borderlands is actually really well done found footage and the ending was fucked up like I haven't seen in a horror movie in a long time.

Wishmaster 3.

Poughkeepsie Tapes

but leads to a bit of a continuity error due to it being a "found" footage flick. I can't imagine anything coming out the other end of that as a usable piece of technology, let along coming out in a place that could be found.

>black swan
wow

Creep
The Taking of Deborah Logan
It Follows
Grave Encounters

Kill List
The resurrected
Deathwatch
Banshee Chapter

Starry eyes
The loved ones

>>It Follows (2015)

he was streaming everything .. did you even watch the movie?

Streaming? Really? I honestly must have missed that statement? How early in was that established? I guess I was not paying attention, I thought he was doing a video log/diary of sorts, I totally missed him stating it was being streamed. My bad.

Event horizon's bretty gud

/tg/'s this way, friend

>XDDD 40K meme
It's a good movie

hue
and yes, it is.Most of the horror stuff I've seen Sam Neil in does not disappoint. He also does villain roles much more than I thought he would. Another good one of his is Possession, if you get a chance. For the first 40 minutes it's like watching angry people with autism try to hold together a relationship, but then it gets better.
