Underated answer. If season 2 was named Vinci Noir and had no association to True Detective, it would have been fine. Shit was pure noir. Season 1 is a great example of hardboiled noir tho.
Chinatown is technically neo noir. I'd have to say Maltese Falcon or Double Indemnity for best regular noir.
