I have to admit, even tho it was a movie promoting socialism and snubbing capitalism, it made perfect sense and isnt exactly too far off in its prediction.

The separation between the classes and of our hearts from nature due to the beast of industry is still very relevant.

I like how, no sooner has the Jew or the atheist dropped Christianity as a symbolic framework, they dig up Gothic horror and occultism and devil worship.

[Fritz Lang's] parents (his mother, Jewish born, converted to Roman Catholic) took their religion seriously...

:^)

Which made me wonder about the Imagry depicted in the film. Such as when the machine man in maria form gave a Horus wink.

It wouldnt seem Lang is a zionist if hes depicting the the catalyst of a violent worker uprising to such occult societies would it?

It's German expressionism which was inspired by the horrors of WW1 and the lack of labor laws and such from the 19th and early 20th century. Modernists had promised change for the better and a utopia on earth through industry, machines, and art. But WW1 was the first example of modern industry and technology being used for war.

Everyone was pissed at their governments for the war, and then socialism popped up and promised utopia for the masses regardless of class. Things were shit at the time so people went for it and we all know how that ended.

The film its self was way ahead of its time, and I think it was one of the most expensive ever made at that time. But it's a good look at what people were feeling at the time and their fears for the future.

Hello Karl and Friedrich

I think I read something about the final cost was upwards of 5million dollars.

The production and setting was the first thing I noticed about the movie. It was a great compliment to the story. I found myself checking out the set as much as I was interested in what was happening.

...

Hitler's favorite movie.

I already started downloading it.

Sci-fi that tries to be politically deep.

From what I have read there are several different remastered versions, some of which that have taken out religious references n such.

If you have Jewflix I suggest watching there. Its the full version with added text explaining whats happening in the missing film strips.

If you in particular already know this, ignore post, everyone else interested should take note tho.

I thought it was a really neat movie. Seemed ahead of it's time almost.

I have never been as happy as I was for the decade of my 20s when I went off grid and roamed around California and the west without a job , sleeping in the redwoods and the wild undeveloped coastal beaches penniless and free.

I have been a slave to credit debt, home ownership , car and job for the past 20 years and hated every minute of it.

Nothing mankind has , can or will devise can ever replace or approach the original freedom Man was created to enjoy and no amount of money or material can give the inner person what it needs.

5 million deutschmarks, actually.

Either way, it was a technical marvel for the time and I would wager wasn't matched for almost two decades afterward in its technical prowess. The scenes with the machines are particularly striking in how they manage to make them appear to fill the room.

I liked this movie but the lead actress's "acting" was so shlocky, even compared to everyone else. I couldn't take the movie seriously because of her over-acting. I'm aware these actors had to over-act to portray what's going on due to no audio, but she was so fucking obnoxious about it.

Still, decent flick for its time though.

thats diamonds user

That's why I plan to get a house in the countryside. I'm a man of the country, but I moved to the city for work because I had to. I've vowed I would take the money I made and get myself a nice place with a big chunk of land to live on. The nature of Texas is too beautiful to waste living in the middle of a city.

>watching 90 year old movies

>not watching 90 year old movies

Would you recommend I watch Barbershop, Jamal?

That movie is anything but Sup Forums approved, in fact, it's probably the apex of the Weimer republic Frankfurt school degeneracy Hitler vehemently opposed and put an end to. It is only worth watching in the context of comparing the messages the film peddles to our modern film industry.

It's ideological, social, and philosophical poison that should be handled with as much care as smallpox in a CDC laboratory.

>degeneracy Hitler vehemently opposed

Except Goebbels himself loved the film.

>Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels was impressed with the film's message of social justice. In a 1928 speech he declared that "the political bourgeoisie is about to leave the stage of history. In its place advance the oppressed producers of the head and hand, the forces of Labor, to begin their historical mission".

What did you eat?

>2 deep 4 u

are you posting with your mind right know

>the forces of Labor, to begin their historical mission".
In many ways, Nazi economic ideology, I.E, the approach to the nature of labor, is extremely similar to Marxism. It wouldn't surprise me that Goebbels would find some appealing nature to it or that a National Socialist would feel some sympathy towards Marxist arguments regarding treatment of workers, the evils of the capitalists, and the vapid cultural consumerism that is the inevitable conclusion of capitalist societies, but it ends there. In a way, the classic concepts of Social Justice are very similar to one another between Marxism and Natsoc. The societal messages, however, are completely different.

>what is German Expressionism

>I need the Sup Forums think tank to tell me how I feel about it.

this is sad.

friends, food stanps, soup kitchens , restaurant give aways and dumpster diving.. every night Micky D's would put everything that didn't sell in trash bags and toss them into the dumpster.. still warm.

if you can eat that shit at all you'd have more than you could finish for a dozen people. Albertsons, Alpha beta , safeways all in those days had open dumpsters. things like produce and packaged stuff that had just hit the sell by date were fine.

get ten people collecting food stanps and pooll them and you all can eat bretty gud..

sorry here

I am in total agreement. Well said.

They have some sympathy for each others' message, but the outcomes are significantly different.

Well put.

Many people on this board seem to get triggered really hard by any kind of leftist tendencies. I guess this is mostly reactionary to the SJW crap. I think some of them also see it as a "slippery slope" of some kind. Maybe some of them fell for the libertarian memes for real, or the late cold-war era pro-corporation, pro-globalization propaganda (wasn't as intense as the red scare, but more insidious in many ways).

But frankly, I think a lot of the leftist ideas are just common sense. People without means get taken advantage of (if they even have any opportunity to be productive at all!). Liberty has to be economic too. But what the stormfags call "degeneracy" is a real problem. The west has social problems mostly, not productivity ones.

That's how I see it anyway.

>The societal messages, however, are completely different.

Can you elaborate on that?

watched it in uni film class. Confirmed awesome. Must see. How did he know?

I don't agree with its message at all, but I find it to be an incredible film. TCM is the only thing I miss about cable.

>Can you elaborate on that?
Sure.

Marxism and Communism are universalists. The dream of Communism is similar to the dream of Islam, for a GLOBAL and complete embracing of Marxism. Wherein every single society on Earth is merged into one, universal community wherein the workers "control" the means of production. Where the concepts of gender, race, society, and any other such silly natural things are thrown away. In this ideal, a woman, a man, a nigger, a white, they are all the same and work towards the common goal of the society, which can be anything from farming reform to space travel. Communists believed in a system of Authoritarian gender and racial equality, which was astoundingly unique, since for more than a century before, the only proponents of equality on that scale did not believe in Authoritarianism. New World Order type shit. This is why Jews made it, co-opted it, spread it, and controlled it. It was an ideology that promoted the destruction of cultural and ethnic identity in favor of trusting every single facet of humanity to the state, right down to personality and gender roles.

National Socialism, in many ways, is the complete and exact opposite of it. The antithesis of Communism. National Socialists believe in the preservation of the nation state (Nationalism) as well as the cooperation of all individuals towards the advancement of the state (Socialism) which then works to advance the people via eugenics, selective breeding, and education that promotes racial pride, physical fitness, and offspring. It is the ultimate political ideology for the long-term sustaining of your race, which precisely why Marxists, cultural or otherwise, hate it so much. National Socialism makes that which the Marxists wish to break unbreakable. What the Marxists wish to weaken, poison, deceive, and destroy, the National Socialists seek to strengthen, revitalize, and immortalize, and that thing is the Folk, the people, the race.

Interesting.

I mostly oppose globalism because it makes nations less sovereign (in so many ways), which in turns makes democracy even less meaningful (which is what appears to be protecting workers right now). International cabals are not democratic. I mostly oppose communism because it is too centralized and authoritarian (which leads to failures and abuses). It's a simple way of looking at it that I have.

I never really cared about race. But I realize the importance of culture and values more and more. Eh, looks like the nazis and the commies thought about it long and hard for sure.
