Has anyone ever donated plasma? Thinking about doing it just to cover my cellphone and satellite bill

Has anyone ever donated plasma? Thinking about doing it just to cover my cellphone and satellite bill.

What the fuck is plasma?

I have.
It pays $40 a pint.
Blood

Yeah...you're not going to get nearly enough to cover a bill lol last time I sold plasma I got $50 and was told you cannot donate again for a week...

It's a pain in the ass. I donated to a friend that needed it as he went through chemo, and the first visit was all forms and a drug test. Why a drug test, I have no idea- but had I failed it, I couldn't donate. The procedure itself is painless but time consuming. You'll need a LOT of time on your hands.

They generally pay more with each donation.

When you donate blood, they take the clear stuff out and then put back the other cells into your body. The clearish stuff is plasma.

You can get $100-$200 per month from it. More than enough to pay for phone+internet.

Look dude I'm against drug testing in most cases but you're an idiot if you don't get why they don't want certain metabolites in your blood when they use it to treat cancer patiennts etc.

Remember that it's still a business OP so they better pay well. Otherwise give your blood to whoever pays the most. Under no circumstances should you donate blood for free. They make like $10,000 per transfusion so you know someone's gonna get put in debt for life for using your blood. You better get your cut, however little it may be.

I do it every once in a while. It's not that bad, and they pay me 60 bucks a visit and I can go twice a week. It helps when I need a couple of extra bucks here and there, but I don't do it regularly.

>blood test
>for donating blood.

Man you're retarded for questioning it.

I get $280 a month, I donate twice weekly at BioLife plasma services. The way they do it is you get $20 the first time and $50 the second time each week. It isn't taxable and they'll give you a visa that they charge. It's a good gig but make sure you stay hydrated, are consuming enough iron and protein, and don't eat a fatty meal before you donate. It's also important you tell them if you feel any discomfort, because once they turn the machine on you're going to get fucked up if you're not hooked up correctly. Good luck god speed op you tremendous faggot

I used to donateback in highschool literally just for free food and an out for 1st period. but the last time I donated there was a problem drawing the blood/plasma and putting the blood back in. they draw blood then it like spins in a machine to separate the blood and plasma then the blood is put back in the body. something was wrong with the system hooked up and the needle kept drawing blood too fast and putting it back into my arm that the needle literally was vibrating the whole time. they had to slow down the machine to make it not painful but then it changed from 40 min to over 2 hours. it's usually not too bad but that's what can happen.

Fuck donating I use to get 70-90 a week but now I'm lucky to get 40. And they damaged my fucking nerves near the veins.

ITT: Americans who do not know the definition of the word "Donate"

In my country they don't give any money for donating blood or plasma. I donated blood a couple of times and got a waterbottle and a couple of times later a keychain.
They do have free lunch and coffee though

The yanks get away with it because the person who needs it will pay like $800/pint of blood transfused into them during surgery

This is fucking retarded. It's not a donation if you get paid.

Donate blood, help people. Simple.

You're tested once, before you start, and never tested again. Had I smoked a joint before the test, I would have been rejected; had I shot up with heroin afterwards, they would never have detected it.

We're talking about Texas here. This is not about ensuring a healthy blood supply, this is about imposing a conservative social agenda.

But thanks for your input. It's always amusing when an ignorant ass chimes in with their ignorant ass comments.

>ITT: Autistic faggots who don't know what a colloquialism is.

If they can permanently indebt an entire family with a single transfusion then they better give me my cut stupid.

Help people go into unpayable medical debt. Makes perfect sense.

Most of the blood gets thrown away. What they do use they make a fucking shit ton of money on. You're not "helping" people by giving a megacorporation the opportunity to indebt people for life with your blood.

I do donate whole blood and it isn't compensated, but plasma donation takes 90 minutes. I get $40 twice a week. $420 extra pocket money is great each month. I just put in my ear buds and listen to audiobooks while I'm there.
