Did math get harder or am I just retarded.
Did math get harder or am I just retarded
But user, this specific exercise is not difficult
A_n - 4 = n maybe?
Both.
The latter
r u trolling
Depending if you start on 0 or 1 in these problems, compute the first 5 n's, or in other words, (0,1,2,3,4) or (1,2,3,4,5).
Answer to #1:
4,5,6,7,8 or 5,6,7,8,9
No I'm completely retarded.
sorry user you are just retarded.
1. a1 = 5, a2 = 6, a3 = 7, a4 = 8, a5 = 9
2. a1 = 1, a2 = 3, a3 = 5, a4 = 7, a5 = 9
3. a1 = 9, a2 = 6, a3 = 3, a4 = 0, a5 = -3
4. a1 = 3, a2 = 9, a3 = 27, a4 = 81, a5 = 243
5. a1 = -2, a2 = 4, a3 = -8, a4 = 16 , a5 = -32
You didn't show your work..
dude, you just replace n with 1,2,3,4,5
what do you mean?
> solves the tasks
> calls op retarded
Bitch please
yeah if op couldn't do basic math then someone had to show how simple it is
> uhhh gotta show Sup Forums how smart I am
You mean u those guys fell for lazy motherfucker op who exploited their egos?
Lol thanks for my regents diploma
Lol this guy gets it
Sequences are an ordered list of numbers.
a_n means what entry of a sequence.
Example:
Sequence = (6,7,8,9)
a_2 means number 7.
When problems asks "find first 3 terms of a sequence" for a_n = 4n+1, you plugin 1,2, and 3 into n.
So
1st term: 4(1)+1 = 5
2nd term: 4(2) + 1 = 8 + 1 = 9
3rd term: 4(3) + 1 = 12 + 1 = 13
Another example:
"Find first 3 terms of a_n = (-2)^n"
1st term: (-2)^1 = -2
2nd term: (-2)^2 = -2*-2 = 4
3rd term: (-2)^3 =-2*-2*-2 = 4 * -2 = -8
i don't even have to look at the picture to know you're retarded, OP. and a faggot.
Math actually got more retarded, ironically. These exercises are functions in disguise. Same shit they teach highschool freshmen. Pretty soon you'll learn how to predict the nth term and the summation of all terms up to the nth term.

How is this fucking hard. You replace n with the number in the sequence you are trying to find. For example you want A1 replace all n's with 1 and do the math like normally and repeat for 4 more number in the sequence. A2 a3 a4 a5
