True, but guess I have to be more specific. Humans are better long-distance runners when it comes to rough terrain. A horse will most likely have an advantage in flat terrain with no obstacles whereas humans are in when the area is, for example more rugged and mountainous. That's why that dude Pheidippides chose to run, because that specific area in Greece is very rocky and hard if not impossible for a horse to overcome large distances in a better time than a human.
