Dragonball, Cowboy Bebop, and Wolfs Rain use to be my shit
Appleseed
Probably FMA:Brotherhood, Code Geass and Samurai Champloo.
Ghost Stories
That's it. Nothing else even comes close.
Evangelion, because it was the first time I realized what anime was, and I was enthralled.
Remember watching it on Winamp Shoutcast in like 240p quality, good old days.
GitS and Cowboy Bebop are the only other animes in the same category as Akira.
...
was ninja scroll untill this came out

saw this movie last week and I honestly don't get it
To Aru Kagaku no Railgun (A Certain Scientific Railgun)
KAH NAY DAHHHHH
TET ZUOOOO
Ninja Scroll, Bakemonogatari, Mononoke all have depth and character.
Everyone goes blind and dies. 4/10.
I saw parts of this, and I loved it. Something kind of calming and strange about it. Really pretty, too.
I really like Gurren lagan, Evangelion and hero acadamia (I have more faves but I don't want to go over board)
The .hack series. Loved the games as well.
City Hunter is quite good too.
Akira marked the beginning of modern anime age. It changed things completely.
Steins Gate
Paranoia Agent. Satoshi Kon was a genius. F

How dare you. you are... you are not good.
Your are just a chicken Cheep cheep cheep cheep cheep
Also, it maybe a bit difficult to wrap your head around because it's based on a complex manga. A lot of stuff got left out or simplified in the translation. But it still stands the test of time.
kek
> Naming anything other than jojo
First anime I watched in 2 years that made me pause in the middle of an episode and try to understand what was going on. Loved it.
this. the chimera ant arc could have been shorter though.

since others already mentioned my favorite, I will go with PlanetES. The life of space-debris cleaning janitors. What could be more interesting than that?

One Punch Man is really good.
I haven't seen Elfen Leid, Eden of the East, or Welcome to the NHK in forever, but I remember loving them.
Waiting for a new season.
>Elfen Leid
It rocks. Gore galore.
Not my favorite but i just finished Your Lie in April. Made me tear up a couple times
ah yes, ignorance is bliss
Definitely. Characters are soberingly realistic compared to most animes.
>wtf is a ninja scroll?
oh nice, you'll enjoy it
When They Cry is the highest quality fucked up anime i ever watched. loved every bit of it
1st one piece
2nd Hunter Hunter
3rd Bleach
I put bleach here because the soundtracks were awesome and very well put, and the first intro is nostalgic as fuck
>watching anime
>nuclear disaster is often incorporated into the story
>americans are always shown as assholes
>realize it's all guilt trip about WWII
>mfw japan allied with nazis
>mfw they committed crimes against humanity
>mfw they started the war with america
>mfw they had a nuclear meltdown in 2011
sounds good, i have been meaning to experience some human emotion lately
It's edgy Romeo and Juliette without any genuine character development but with some interesting fight scenes. 4/10 is pretty accurate.
This is indeed a great anime
>civilians paying the price for shit goverment does
Gotta be Paranoia Agent or Perfect Blue for me. Honorable mentions for Cowboy Bebop, FLCL, and Outlaw Star but Satoshi Kon is in a league of his own. He's still got an unfinished film in production that may never see the light of day, but what a fucking genius he was.
respect the classics
im really liking quan zhi gao shou atm
i lived in simpler times
At least it wasn't as fucked up as Kite.
Vagabond, FMA
I mean Akira was pretty cool, but I didn't quite get it... So it's not one of my tops
Might be a tie between Trigun and "Urusei Yatsura Movie 3: Beautiful Dreamer"
don't watch anything beyond season 1
No love for RIN Daughters of Mnemosyne?

Season 2 was decent. Except for the fairy shit, same as Season 1.
