I legitimately hate cats.

We all do

Why?

Exactly because of this retarded question and all the other shit tactics from you, cats.

Torchwood is good.

Better than this bait, anyway.

>/who/ presents:
DOCTOR WHO: SHIT TRIPS Vol. 1
- The Anthology -

>Are you a true fan of Doctor Who?
>Have you ever written down a sequence of words?

If the answer is yes or no, then you are ready to contribute a literary masterpiece to the first ever /who/ collection of original Doctor Who-based short fiction.
/who/ is finally making its unique mark in an age-old tradition of p̶a̶c̶k̶a̶g̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶f̶a̶n̶f̶i̶c̶s̶ ̶t̶o̶g̶e̶t̶h̶e̶r̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶g̶i̶v̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶m̶ ̶a̶n̶ ̶a̶i̶r̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶l̶e̶g̶i̶t̶i̶m̶a̶c̶y̶ / celebrating the magic of Who and the talent of a community.

There are no limits (except the story must be at least 1 word long, and preferably not in excess of 10,000, it's short fiction you fuck).

>- Can involve any Doctor(s), companion(s), side characters, spinoff characters and beyond, as your heart desires
>- Can be in any style, whether it's "legitimate writing", "pisstake", or "shitpost".
>- Can be about absolutely anything
>- The main focus is on good fun in the vein of the wiki, although serious entries are allowed. (If you're going to write smut, maybe approach it with a degree of levity)

Stuck for ideas? Try starting with your favourite TARDIS team (or for timeliness, 12/Clala) and one of these authentic titles:

And free scenario prompts:
games.usvsth3m.com/drwho/

We have started an index on the wiki for the collection. Anyone can contribute, no signups/pitches required. If you have ideas, feel free to broadcast them. There is always room for more.
The rest is self-explanatory. Format for uploading your work is up to you, as long as it can be conveniently copied across (and ideally don't dump long texts in /who/ directly). Pastebin is a popular choice, though.

Anyone who wants to do illustrations or comics is encouraged.

Remember, it doesn't have to be good. Just have fun

Every time they make a monster on Who they make six of them.

I just watched To the Last Man and thought it was pretty good and that Helen Raynor is a good writer. This and Out of Time make me want more episodes with people from the past falling through the rift. Also more glimpses of what Torchwood was like between 1879 and 2007.

Talking to yourself is the first sign of madness.

We're all mad here. :^)

Why did you spoiler tag that shit bait?

>We're
>multiple personality disorder confirmed

youtube.com/watch?v=ME0RClV_7EM

Now there's a line-up...

Radical.

It's even better when you remember BBC ONE used to air TMNT

>even better
Why?

What kinda cut is this called?

Geek Pie

a wig

JUST

>mfw just found out about the plogicol that bridged PotW and Christmas Invasion last week
>mfw legitimately new TV Who material to watch

That was a good day

Plogicol?

Like, a minisode.

Please enlighten us, because I have no idea what you're talking about.

youtube.com/watch?v=hmHdn9EmC70

I envy that feel.

Hi cats.

I'm happy that clara is dead.

Thanks dude, I've never seen that.

Jeez, it's a long wait for s10.

What happened to minisodes? The Smith era was absolutely lousy with minisodes, there were more minisodes than you could keep up with, but what have we got in the last two years? Just a prequel for the series 9 opener?

>Cats confirmed as not a true Doctor Who fan at all when he admits to never seeing that stuff
>Adam laughs at him

>mfw legitimately new TV Who material to watch

and there'll be a missing episode announcement soon too!

>What happened to minisodes?
Why don't you tell us all your opinion on that?

Uh, I wish we went back to having more minisodes.

Two prequels for the s9 opener, actually. The "Prologue" and "The Doctor's Meditation'.

OK. Why?

They were usually fun and focused on stuff that couldn't be fit into the episodes but was worth showing. e.g. the Night and the Doctor ones with 11 and River really helped sell their relationship in a way the tv episodes weren't that good at.

Moff wouldn't let her go.

The actual stories should have this data in them.Moffat is hopeless at following stuff through consistently.

That's the main reason why I want her dead

What is it you see in these staring pictures, cats? Your collection is easily identified.

dont forget the mouth is usually open or twisted in some way too

If you're convinced every user here is Cats, I won't waste my time arguing with you.

Not everyone cats. Only you and your obvious posts, mate.
You can't help being retarded but you've even made this cat picture a meme response, matey.

The Doctors Meditation was pretty good, in a fun sort of way.

>Moffat is hopeless

I thought that thru a lot of s6 and s7. But he redeemed himself with the 50th anniversary. Then s8 got better, and s9 a lot better.

He is forgiven. He hasn't ruined my favorite show as much as I feared.

you should adopt a trip

then when someone says "fuck off cats" i can pretend they were talking to you and not reeee like fuck

really tho it would be cool to have two catses here

>talking to himself again

Maybe.

DESU, the (main) reason I enjoy Doctor Who is that it seems to be the one of the few sci-fi/ fantasy shows that has lasted many years.

A new viewer can easily start watching it every time there's a new Doctor and/ or companion. (I started watching when Eleventh Hour was on TV and got hooked).

>A new viewer can easily start watching it every time there's a new Doctor and/ or companion

yeah i started with the Runaway Bride. amazing that i kept watching really but i'm glad i did

i'm sure /who/ is glad too because otherwise i wouldn't be here today.

I didn't like s8 but s9 was fantastic.

...

>I didn't like s8

I liked s8 overall.

But s9 was consistently good with the exception of just one episode. (And all TV shows have at least one poor ep per season anyway).

Moffat has 2,5 tricks and is wearing thin. His comedy is not as bad as RTD, but now there's retard joining the cast so he lost it.

Series 8 was comfier.

Steven Moffat has explained his decision to bring back Matt Lucas’ character Nardole for Series 10 of Doctor Who.

The character, who first appeared in the 2015 Christmas special The Husbands of River Song, was considered a surprising choice by many fans when it was first announced a few months back.

Speaking in the latest issue of DWM, Moffat reasons: “I decided Nardole should return to Doctor Who when Matt Lucas got in touch saying, “I loved being in that show. Can I come back?” And I sat there thinking, ‘Okay, so this guy who’s out in LA being offered every kind of pilot and every kind of career advancement has basically decided that instead of all that wealth and spectacular success, he’d rather go to Cardiff and make Doctor Who.’

“I thought, ‘He is of my kind. He belongs to our world.’ And so now that was an opportunity – given that it was in front of me and possible – I decided to import the best comic timing I’ve ever seen into Doctor Who on a regular basis.

There's Christmas special news coming soon, revealing the one off companion. It's a pop singer. Nardole also features.
The villains of episode 1 are microscopic creatures called the Climatites
Episode 2 is called
"The Colon and the Bracket" by the guy who wrote "In the Forest of the Night" (2014)
There isn't a Dalek story this year
The finale is a 3-part multi Doctor story featuring 11 + 12 against the Alliance

That's Gareth!

Absolute bullshit. Try harder next time.

>no dalek story

The estate don't give up that easily

Continuing Torchwood

>Meat
Didn't care for this episode at all. And here I was actually hoping for more Rhys. The alien looks like shit, first of all. Literally like a giant piece of shit. I mean I'm not normally one to complain about the special effects but this is on another level, both the design and the quality of the CGI. And it does nothing for the entire episode except go into a rampage of flopping around, forcing Torchwood to kill it with sedatives. They couldn't just use a lower dose to put it to sleep because...
>Sedatives won't work now. If it's got loose, you're never gonna stop it.
Because reasons. Also, Tosh sure seemed to get over Tommy quickly as she's now all over Owen's dick.

Why the fuck is Rhys acting like the existence of aliens is a secret to everyone when Britain is attacked by aliens all the fucking time? I know Gwen said in episode 1 that he wasn't convinced by the Sycorax or the Cybermen but there have been like five or six more alien attacks since then. I know he's kind of slow but he can't be that retarded. It's just weird because the Davies era has had pretty tight continuity with its present day Earth episodes and has been consistently showing how normal people like Elton and Wilf react to all this stuff, but this episode just eschews all that context.

And the episode doesn't even have that good a premise since the Sarah Jane Adventures did the "let the slightly dim-witted male side character who lives with the female main character and doesn't understand that there's paranormal stuff going on know that there's paranormal stuff going on and help the main team" plot only a few months ago. The animal rights metaphor can fuck off too.

>Adam
Fantastic episode. Explored the characters in interesting ways, made good use of the fact Rhys knows about Torchwood now, showed more of dem sweet Jack flashbacks, had an entertaining and spooky villain. Not much more to say about it except Rick and Morty may have done it better

chronological user here, holy fuck Renaissance of the Daleks is bad, holy shit.

There was no proper Dalek story in series 6, although they did have a cameo in The Wedding of River Song.

Has the Doctor every defended someone in a court of law (other than himself)?

Was he defending himself in Stones of Blood? I don't remember.

He defended Ian when he was accused of murder in an episode of The Keys of Marinus.

Himself and Romana

>tfw you realise that your era is shit and boring

Hi, Gareth.

IIRC this had one of the funniest cliffhangers ever where Mel screams at exactly the right pitch to match the sting that leads into the credits.

Are you looking forward to my era, /who/?
I think you're going to love it.

Best regeneration theme incoming

youtube.com/watch?v=U_WSezfjs9o

Working on making my rips better every month, full issue coming later

>The story I always wanted to do was the story of a daft old alien who stole a time machine and ran away.

I'm crying

Yes, and thank you in advance

I love you man.

I know

Sincere thanks man, I love hearing from you guys

I figured I might as well storytime the DWM awards

...

>The Fisher King below Ashildr
>HORS that low

...

Skipped an ad page

What a lackluster set of books and DVD releases desu

>the most popular season overall with DWM readers since the Eleventh Doctor's initial run in 2010.

I'm kinda surprised by that. I thought series 6 was pretty popular, though I mostly hated it.

I think that actually corresponds pretty well with the /who/ ratings

What's HORS

Husbands of River Song

I never vote in those, I'm too lazy. But /who/ has pretty different ratings than most I think.

>The Doctor hates Trump

Where's based Gareth when you need em

soooo benis guy plants are in the mix now... ultrons and reptiloids and PE teachers and that telephone booth from bill and teds excellent adventure...

Oh... meh

The Doctor hates Americans. That's why he strangled Peri.

Posting gay fanart.

Don't be filthy Gareth.

To be fair, what's left for them to put out on DVD? All of the clasdic series has been released, unless they find or animate more missing episodes, or re-release everything in Blu-ray.

Was it the one with the killer eye crust? Yeah, that one blew.

Yeah you're right. I guess I still haven't accepted the death of the DVD range, probably because I still have so many left to buy
