Deadwood has some resolution in the finale. there are some dangling plot points, but you have to figure the show's format was basically spending two weeks in the camp per season. each season had a proper conclusion and the final scene of the third was included specifically because the show wasn't renewed for another season. what i'm saying is watch Deadwood. it's one of the greatest shows ever. you're only doing yourself a disservice if you rely on your rather dumb stipulation about investment. it's an amazing show even if it's lacking a grand finale. also give John From Cincinnati a try.
