This is not a problem

oh yes, this looks normal. i see no concerning trend here. everything is fine. keep consuming please.

Now get to the falsifiable evidence that this is manmade.

I don't know if you know this, the climate changes constantly. We have nothing to do with it

OK

Rising temperatures could help keep the next ice age at bay.

>he thinks climate change is caused by man

Did man start and end the ice age too? Go back to rebbit cuck.

if we have any bays left

MUH SCIENTISTS

The world went through an ice age and other much more severe climate changes without human influence, if significant climate change is going to happen it's going to happen regardless of human influence. Maybe human influence is raising the temperature by a degree or two by who gives a fuck? We could be completely clean and green and there would still be climate change going on only maybe the average temperature in the summer would be 86 instead of 88. Go drive a hybrid and fuck off cuck.

You do realize everyone here agrees with you, right?

Climate is a pretty wild thing. Tbh, I have no idea whether climate change is man-made or not. But, I can easily think of times when temperatures changed extremely quickly without man and without meteor events.

Keep in mind that Krakatoa happened in 1883. Yellowstone is overdue for an eruption and is also the reason why scientists are worried about global warming due to the consequences of the consequences of the park exploding.

Earth goes through cycles. ' manmade global warming' is a farce.

>MUH SCIENTISTS

Like every volcanic and solar event, both of which change the energy of our planet by much more than we are capable of.

i hope so, but look at 56908 either they're playing the role really well or they're actually just stupid.

What caused the ice age?

It's both. What are you a newfag?

Literally China and Indias fault

global warming is correlated to race mixing

>earth only weight 1.5 degrees
>leftists STILL lying and saying it's getting hotter

you lying pieces of shit, were coming for you

I still can't get over the fact that you started your post with "MUH SCIENTISTS"

>I-I-If scientists say global warming is caused by man than it doesn't matter that the earth has gone through even more severe climate changes in the past without human influence r-right?

Clearly climate change is caused by man and global warming wouldn't be happening if not for us humans. I'm gonna go get a hybrid tomorrow!

I am an Earth shill.

Since when does consensus = good science?
Ever heard of Galileo?

>MUH SCIENTISTS

Yeah disregard the people who gave you everything you take for granted.

>Since when does consensus = good science

Oh my god this is too much

5 years of the planet recovering from a global drop of 1.2 degrees Celsius and the industrial revolution picking up caused the planet to fluctuate much more wildly. We are reducing carbon emissions but that doesn't mean that we won't suffer from past events. Seriously, you people are blowing things out of proportion.

But what about population increases in the next 50 years? I agree that our current efforts to reduce warming are proving to be something, but the demands of the population on the industry will cause the planet to degrade in quality is something you might say. It's simple. Do your part as a beta with tainted genetic code to not have children. Simple as that. You know that mutations will still occur, but why force the meme? inb4 why slug more slug

>we have to stop burning oil
>peak oil in a few years anyway
It's fucking nothing

>the planet recovering from a global drop of 1.2 degrees Celsius

Breh I don't care about climate change, it would be happening regardless of what humans did and do. Maybe without us the average temp and would only raise by 4 degrees instead of 5 or 6, but I really don't care. Significant climate change would and will happen regardless of humans and our influence in it is meaningless as without as it would still be significant. If you're really so concerned about climate change go to Asia and talk to the chinks and poo in loos cuck.

...

>solar event
Where does this nonsense come from? By any definition, average solar irradiance hasn't changed by more than a few tenths of a percent in the last several decades.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1883_eruption_of_Krakatoa#Effects
>In the year following the eruption, average Northern Hemisphere summer temperatures fell by as much as 1.2 °C (2.2 °F).[10] Weather patterns continued to be chaotic for years, and temperatures did not return to normal until 1888.[10]

Yeah, I hate reading too.

I thought you were on my side! Aw. The condescension is because the way modern science works is that good science is BUILT on consensus; no research is funded, accepted, or brought in contact with society without consensus. That's the argument. It's a shame I had to write it out.

>the recent global warming is mostly a natural phenomenon
Science disagrees with you.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surveys_of_scientists'_views_on_climate_change

temperatures returned to normal. Watch the gif (which is from a recent US govmnt study): the fluctuations from Krakatoa to the end of the 19th century are a pittance compared to what has been happening more recently

Events that last not long enough to show on averages allow for RECORD TEMPERATURE cherrypicking that gets drilled into your psyche.
They even put [ten-year record] and similar things hidden down in the ticker periodically so they can maintain some modicum of credibility while they try to convince you that it's unprecedented.

NEVER RELAX

It says right on that page that human activity is contributing to global warming, itd still be happening without us, we're not causing it just exacerbating it. And seeing as the earth has gone through much more severe climate changes in the past I don't give a shit that were contributing. Any significant climate change today would happen regardless of human influence, just like how it has happened without us for millions of years. If it's bad with us, it'd still be bad without us so I don't give a fuck. I'm not gonna make drastic changes in an effort to reduce the average global temperature by 2 degrees.

The real question is why care.

You will die soon, sooner than this shit will really begin to matter unless you live in a shithole like china or within a football field's length of a beach.

After you die, you literally will not exist, your investments will not matter, sensation will not matter, nothing will bring you back, why pick a lifetime of "responsible" living just for maybe a day or two of feelgood before you pass (if you even see it coming) when you could be hedonistic and actually enjoy the time on this earth you were damned with. I'm not even trying to be edgy, I just can't understand how people who aren't religious can really give a shit about the lives of people they will never meet (and who don't even exist yet). Someone please explain it to me without calling anyone a sociopath.

I did watch it. If you can beat me in math up to calculus 2nd semester, then I'll concede. There's still a possibility resulting from the tiny battle of logic that I'd remain obstinate in defeat.

This is possibly true, but even when you average the temperature data out you get a warming trend.

And the solar irradiation is pretty smooth - even averaging over only a month, the irradiance doesn't vary more than 0.1%, so even if it spikes from one day to the next that sure as hell doesn't explain a year-to-year average temperature rise.

Also while the average solar irradiance varies, it doesn't trend up or down, it just cycles. So again, it can't explain the upward trend in temperature.

I thought Sup Forums liked happenings. Why do you turn your back on the greatest actual happening of our time? All the great cities on the earth will wash away as the seas rise. clathrates will dissolve and warming will accelerate out of control. Arable land will vanish, worldwide droughts will occur, and the oceans will acidify and die. Global starvation, mass-migration and political chaos will crush human civilization.

/thread

This is how normies live without mentioning it. Go to bed, folks.

... you don't know me. safe to say, i'd be able to do just fine up to calculus 2nd semester.

Are you just pretending?

Appeal to authority.

All of this data is faked.

Next

Cycles of solar radiation affecting the climate haven't been sufficiently studied to cement a conclusion. This isn't a dismissal, but a call for further study before we start burning witches because paganism has in recent years been correlated to poor corn yield.

>global
>globe

I'm not worried

I like how 200 years is somehow not enough to indicate a trend, but a made-up 18 year "pause" is supposedly enough to disprove it. I don't mean to put words in your mouth though, just heading off more common babble.

One alternate, acceptable answer is reproduction, but even then you shouldn't be focusing of fixing problems that affect everyone, just boosting your own offspring's advantages while letting dumb-smart people fix these longterm issues.

You only think that because you think I did poorly and stopped there. Surprise!, I stopped because studying was never my forte to begin with. Amazing how I could have become a meteorologist too even though that would mean I would have taken 3 graded attempts at the course and 3 ungraded. I've been a psych major for two years so you are still providing valuable data. :)

All the bloggers who say Sup Forums is smart and sophisticated conservatism need to read this thread to see how cretinous your average pol poster is.

Climate change is anthropogenic and will cause a significant rise in sea levels in the next 100 years.

You do know that they consider the slightest mental illness to cause someone to be "dumb," right? Mental illnesses and other genetic mutations show a lot of the defaults within a specie's behavior patterns and thoughts. Who else better to learn from those mistakes and triumphs than the ones without the genetic defects? Get rekt, fundo.

If the pause persists for one one more year your hypothesis is outside the margin of error for any self-respecting engineer or scientist.

I'm going to ignore your whole comment because it's the work of a rambling intoxicant who can't type.

I'll add that dumb-smart is a descriptor used for people with scholarly knowledge but without the capability to practically apply it, those people who dedicate themselves to civil services like cancer or environmental studies just so they can justify breathing because they can't get laid or make friends otherwise. These types tend to make up the first 9 steps towards fixing some huge issue while the final one is usually made by someone who actually makes use of it, like the guy who developed penicillin. Stole 4 years of research from a couple other autistic fuckheads, performed the clinical trials and cashed in on it.

I have gifted IQ and am hyperlexic. Come at me?

Appeals to authority are only fallacious when people are giving opinions on things outside of their discipline, eg. an actress giving medical advice.

When experts within a field have a consensus opinion, citing that opinion is a legitimate appeal to authority. This doesn't mean it's automatically correct, of course, but it doesn't mean that the person is arguing fairly and correctly and you need to address the cited expert's stance instead of crying about fallacies.

inb4 that I'm synesthetic as well
Thanks for reminding me! (not)

How did the earth recover from the last ice age without anthropogenic factors?

but it does* mean the person is arguing fairly

Fair enough, it's slang where I come from.

Have you ever had sex and actually felt good about yourself afterwards? If so, I really don't have a complaint about yourself. Don't go into a field where you only make money off of grants, it's a waste of your life.

Also, if you're reading me reply to you through my own posts, you can know also that I'm leaving the thread (read: lurking.) But now I see your post here Eh....no because I forced myself into that hole by lying about my virginity. And then there was the whole I never slept in my dorm room and couldn't get enough of not fucking even when my studying motivation finally picked up. I'm not looking for research though. I'm in psychology for intellectual prop law or maybe a job that my dad can pull strings for in the CIA.

Honestly, 60 year lag from the oil crisis in the 60s and everyone burned coal.

We absolutely contribute to an unnatural amount of carbon, even if volcanoes contribute more.

Sure, the atoms in that molecule have very long half-lives, but you gotta stop treating naturally produced respiratory chemicals like they're artificially radioactive isotopes.
