>soundcloud.com/from_downtown pretty great indeed. if you're really going for that disgusting clipping mess of modern trap, try distorting your 808 more, and try to bring out the 200-500 hertz range a bit more.
>soundcloud.com/user-780076909 it seems that the actual mix and mastering process is the limiting factor for these beats. the actual volume of individual pieces is too low or too high at parts. try looking up mixing and mastering tutorials on youtube, or if you have a friend who's a producer, have them take a look at it.
other than that, the you've got some good ideas, just work on the execution.
solid production, but none of the beats really stuck with me, I think you should take more risks not a big fan, need some more going on good for a beginner, but everybody and their mother's has sampled blue magic and bloodstone, just keep diggin, give us something fresh don't sing you're very close to being exceptional, just try breaking some conventions, because you have all the necessary skills added up production is your number 1 problem atm, it's very weak, drums especially not working for me, unorganized composition nice as always dude, can hear new influences too glad to see you still at it. Drums could use work however; mixwise. your music is really dope dude it's right on the verge of being really great, but you gotta work on mixing. You have big things ahead for you, just get to that mixing dude stuff like this needs to BUMP best in thread, pleasant as fuck

Harmony is lovely, vocals are great, I feel a very heavy Radiohead influence. Really good.
That guitar tone is godly and I appreciate the microtonal experiment, but sometimes it just feels like you're out of tune, maybe use it a bit more subtlely?
I'm not too much into chiptunes (farthest I go is Black Moth Super Rainbow) but this is pretty good, I liked especially the rising textures. It does come off as videogamey.
yo I know there's people that enjoy this but to me it just comes off as really pretentious
I feel like you could have harder hitting drums, but is pretty good. I've been playing a lot of Crypt of the Necrodancer and I definitely could imagine myself playing to this song.
That bass is lovely. I feel like you could definitely lose the hats, it comes off as if you trying super hard to be labeled as trap. The rising claps are great though, but the rest of the percussion is just ugh (but hey that's just my opinion). The vocals are great though, and the textures are fine a f.
I'll return feedback on Soundcloud.

This has something going for it. I like the choice of sounds, the main sound effect/ snare thing. It's quirky and memorable.
It's a little weak in the tonality game though. I'd just recommend learning a little music theory. Don't just use static minor chords!!! Hnnnnmghhh!!
Jason Torres
cheers dude, what do you mean by tonality game? like the the chords i picked? and the melody? my music theory is 0 as ive just kinda started What do you mean by static chords?
Sorry for all the questions

Haha, well if you must know, I'm this guy.

Thats ok, all good questions! By tonality I just mean the song's adherence to a particular scale or key. This is why learning at least a little theory is critical. Every song needs to have a tonal center or (root). So, yes, the chords and melody was really what i was referring to.
By static (which i admit probably isnt the correct term) i just meant that all the chords sound like the same three notes transposed up or down. Good songs always use a mix of some major and some minor chords. Always!!
Started making this after my gf broke up with me and just finished today, lemme know what you guys think this is one of my first cracks at music production I'll check out everyone's stuff later when I get time (-:
