>It's a Michael McKean episode

>it's a skinner secretly wants fox to succeed but has to give off a stern but aloof demeanor episode

he was the real human bean, and the real hero

This scene was pure kino

Really was one of those sublime moments

Generally a lot of the funnier, playful, more self referential ones were better than myth arc and spooky episodes. The Gilligans, Post Modern Prometheus, the Darin Morgans.

Hollywood AD was a terrible episode though.

I like it. Then again i'm a big Larry Sanders fan.

how the ghost stole christmas is one of my favourite episodes

>it's a meme episode

>It's a scully gets kidnapped by deranged abductee episode

I am close to finishing my binge of Seasons 1-9. I've rated every episode

Overrated af episodes:
Bad Blood
Oubliette
Monday
En Ami

Underrated:
John Doe
Gender Bender
Teliko
Avatar
Terms of Endearment
First Person Shooter
Syzygy

Worst episode of all time: The Field Where I Died

Great list user, fully agree.

That was a great episode though, EVERYTHING WAS IN 3'S MAYNE

thanks. Even with the shitty episodes this is an amazing tv show. Will they continue making new mini series with new agents?

>Bad Blood
yes
>but no Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose
should be on there

i also don't think syzygy was all that bad, but i agree with your list otherwise.

Rumors are that there will be another mini series to deal with the cliffhanger from the season 10 mini series. Both with Mulder and Scully returning, so no new agents.

i think there are rumors of a new season

>Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose
I agree with you. It is overrated.

Clyde Bruckman's isnt overrated or underrated though, it's pretty much accepted to be like one of the top 3 episodes. Jose Chung's is probably top 10 too. Season 3 was GOAT

needed to happen more tbqh

I forgot to add
Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man
Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose
as overrated.

Does ANYONE like Dogget & Reyes?

no i meant it should be on the best list

i didn't like it too much and thought it was overrated, too, until i rewatched the entire series about a year back. it finally clicked with me i guess.

Man, Doggett is cool as fuck, you could really believe that he was a beat cop and in the army by the way he played that character with his unwavering morals. Reyes is hit and miss but I kind of liked her more towards the end.

Doggett grows on you. Never liked Reyes though

sorry i'm fucking illiterate, i just realized i totally misread that post

Dogget was great, "Release" was a fantastic episode. Shame he didn't return for the new series though.

Dogget is based and is his own thing. A man of law.

Reyes is a cheap ripoff of Mulder. Although she is likeable in episodes Dæmonicus and Audrey Pauley

Yes, I like them. Dogget is fucking awsome, and Reyes is cool aswell.

Have any of you lot bought the Blu-Ray box set?

Wondering if it's worth the upgrade.

>it's a "Mulder treats his mother like crap" episode

Dude totally drove her to kill herself.

I liked Reyes at the very end of the show--I mean S9. S10 Reyes was just bizarre. Doggett had his ups and downs.

>it's a Brad Dourif episode

fucking perfect

>Doggett will never return as a recluse in the show

youtu.be/9MkTrfNEVTE

why even live Xphilebros.

So I'm about halfway through season 3, I believe. X-Files has quickly become my favorite show already.

Why are the alien episodes the absolute best? Like that's seriously what drives me more than anything is to eventually run across a couple alien episodes after a stint of like 3-4 ghost episodes. Which the ghost episodes and monster-of-the-week episodes are cool too, but the alien episodes really just do it for me.

What season does the X-Files movie tie into? I want to Google it but I'm afraid of spoilers. What is the best season?

And I just want it to be known that the episode with the two girls with the psychic powers that resulted from the planets lining up, which made Mulder a horny douche and Scully a grade-A cunt, that episode FUCKING sucked. By far one of my least favorites, if not my all time least favorite. Fuck that episode

Movie is between 5 & 6 if I remember right. 2nd movie is between 9 & 10.

Watch The X-Files (1996) after Season 5.

The second movie is a motw watch it after season 9

>What season does the X-Files movie tie into?
it was released right after season 5, iirc

er, the first movie. i just pretend the other one doesn't exist

>it's a darin morgan episode
>it's a you realize half of the top ten best episodes of all time are darin morgan episodes, and that's all there will ever be

fuck doggett and the female agent and that stupid as fuck plot about super soldiers, and fuck the finale.
after mulder gets kidnapped by aliums everything goes to shit.

and I love Robert Patrick, he really tried.

bought an X-files book the other day, are they good ?

I'm yet to watch the new series, is it a worthy continuation, or should I leave it at 9?

Always the best!

This episode was so based and no-one seems to talk about it.

i read one about mayan pyramids as a kid, it was ok

I love folie a deux
>Scully's fw she finally can see the zombiethings

name?

It was a semi-soulless cash-grab with a frustrating conclusion but a couple episodes were all right. Old Mulder and Scully just look wrong though.

People always bring it up.

>folie a deux

It's in season 5 i think.

It is okay, some great episodes in there. Just be aware the ending is a cliffhanger.

Watch the first, third and sixth episodes, skip the rest.

What is the scariest episodes bros?
Also what do you think of Die Hand Die Verletzt. It's the one with the school cult and the snake
youtu.be/9LtB5z_n-2c

kim manners and morgan are the ones that left around season 5 right?

Solid spoopy episode

>Im not gonna tell my son that the person that has tormented him at every turn in his career and caused all of the suffering throughout his life is also his father.
Thanks, mom.

Think of it as a diamond, wrapped in a shit blanket of two of the most embarrassing MotW episodes ever made, sandwiched between Chris Carter basically shitting out the worst mytharc garbage the franchise has ever seen (yes, worse than the movies and late seasons).

Just watch the original run and the Darin Morgan Were-Monster episode; it's a masterpiece.

>Were-Monster episode
Most fappable Scully scenes in any episode ever.

Well yeah, she has "sex" in it.

Home is the absolute scariest

one of the best.

now what you need to unnerstan is yaller hearin this in my voice

I dont get why Skinner was hyped up to return in the new season when he gets about 4 minutes of screen time entirely.

...

>Skinner

More like the Lone Gunmen, who most people missed entirely.

...

One of the few 10/10 episodes for me along with Ice, Apocrypha and The Post-modern Prometheus

Quagmire is an 8.5/10 at best, and is far above those other three you mention.

Even the two random stoners from Quagmire had more screen time in the new season.

Didn't help TLG having thei cameo in the shittest episode though.

it's top tier comfy x-files

>loves mythology episodes
>hates motw episodes
Oh boy, you're in for a drastic shift.

What are the comfiest eps?

>Google ''the X-files provenance'' for images results

why?

I wonder what will hap... Oh for fucks sake.

Problem with the alien and gov conspiracy eps is they are boring as fuck on rewatching, unlike the motw eps

if it's mulder and scully off in the woods somewhere, chances are it's comfy

How the Ghosts Stole Christmas
DPO
Unusual Suspects
Memoirs of a Cigarette Smoking Man
Darkness Falls
War of the Coprophages
Squeeze/Tooms
The Erlenmeyer Flask (a personal choice, due to the very early 90s cinematography and sets)
and, of course, Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster

Die Hand Die Verletzt

Comfiest episode

...

One of my favorite "little moments" was at the beginning of Soft Light and Scully is checking the air vent

I think it's a breath of fresh air inbetween the more serious stuff.

>that episode with reyes in the hospital
>the lady who just delivered the flowers
>doggets breaking down over the possibility of losing reyes
>she only delivers the flowers

kek

Darkness falls is the comfiest episode.
Also
>Ice.
It's inspired by The Thing.
>Vienen
Doggett and Mulder working together closing the black oil arc
>Arcadia
Mulder and Scully pretend to be married at ab isolated suburban neighborhood.
>F.Emasculata
Epidemic episode

...

>I wanna make you say "cheese"
>in relation to a dick pic
>not a hint of irony

Living proof that Hollywood is run by Jews; They don't get their own jokes.

>its a no one in these threads ever mentions my episode xfiles thread
Emasculata

the other one with the cannibal cult and chicken factory is spooky too
>tfw humans are spooky

Whats the one with Scully on a Road trip with CSM to find the cure for Cancer?

Watching for the fist time, currently wrapping up S4.
My favorite episodes are Skinner and Cigarette Man ones in general, but the funny ones are good too. Loved the one where Scully recounts an investigation for a novelist. The circus freaks one was also great. Anything with the Lone Gunmen is great. The Simpsons crossover was pretty damn good.

Looking forward to finding out where this alien bee thing is going.

Yeah that had some nice character assassination, but the ghost zoo animals was just plain awful.

Spoonfeed me guys. Where do I drop? What do I skip?

There's two of those, aren't there

Watch it all.

>Looking forward to finding out where this alien bee thing is going.

>Looking forward to finding out where this alien bee thing is going.

watch the movie

not yet he has to watch Season 5 first.

>Darkness falls is the comfiest episode
You might be right.

Arcadia is fucking fun, though

FEDERAL AGENT!

"Got tired of losing my gun."

why dont they wear the fbi jacket?
tfw watched the first movie before any episode out of stupidity; kinda worked out better imo though
