The point was to post the most underrated solo album, not the most overrated.

...

...

Probably McCartney I.

RAM was huge and Wings got a lot of glory, but McCartney I is the most consistently ignored album from his output, even though it is fantastic.

Would've said this a few years ago, but it seems to get a lot of love nowadays. Not that it's overrated or anything, just appropriately rated.

Yoko's debut album probably

Any George Harrison album

If the album cover wasn't so fucking corny this would get much more praise.

Thirty Three and 1/3 is great, and so was his s/t... But I never got that electric, exciting feeling like you do from Paul's solo stuff.

was john holding the beatles back? paul and george went on to release solo albums better than anything the beatles ever released whereas john's suck

John and Ringo both released a few albums really worth listening to though.

>Plastic Ono Band
>Imagine
>Walls & Bridges

>Ringo
>Goodnight Vienna

>paul and george went on to release solo albums better than anything the beatles
This meme really needs to die. They released some great stuff on their own, but they all just worked objectively better as a group. There's a reason nearly every post-64 Beatles album is fantastic while they each only released 1 or 2 consistently good albums during their several decade post-Beatles career.

TEMPORARY

paul released plenty of good albums on his own, even his latest isn't bad

It's not a meme. Paul McCartney from 1970-1980 was consistently just as good and sometimes better than the Beatles were as a whole. If anything, there's still the music critic from the 70s angry about "Paul breaking up the Beatles" and how "he's such a square" still lingering in the popular music lexicon to this day.

>inb4 it's a compilation

wrong.

Top 5 most overrated solo Beatles albums

1. All Things Must Pass
2. Double Fantasy
3. Imagine
4. Cloud 9
5. Mind Games

That's weird... The Traveling Wilburys were awful too.

Everyone agrees that this, Plastic Ono Band, Imagine, Band on the Run or Ram is the best solo album.

End of the Line, Congratulations, Dirty World, Handle With Care and Last Night are all great.

Always kinda liked this album. Don't hear much about it.

that's a cool album cover

Back to the Egg is really worth checking out. Wings don't really have a BAD album. A few of them are god tier, better than most Beatles albums, but the rest still have a lot of hidden gems.

Band on the Run > Wild Life > Back to the Egg > London Town > Venus & Mars > Wings at the Speed of Sound > Red Rose Speedway
