Anyone able to work this out and if so how? It's beating me.

Haven't double checked yet I just wanted to get in early
In the first example though it only states one number is correct and well placed.
Alright gimme a min to redo

857
Fourth example states 1 isn't correct.
627 final answer
Sorry bout the first answer, I neglected that both 7 and 2 were in it lel
*8
but you could've guessed that hey
First one says one number is correct and well placed.
Yeah, I can read
It's 627
827
Can you really? there is no 6
Exactly, that's the trick to the puzzle.
Here, prove it for yourself:
Go through each hint keeping X 2 7 in mind.
That alone fits the descriptions perfectly.
6 is the only number that isn't evaluated, and since we still need a number for X, we can assume that X = 6

It's actually pretty clever; the second last hint telling you 'nothing is correct' seems useless, but is actually the key, since without that the first number could have been 4, 6 or 9.
Got any more?
It’s 857
Based on the hint 4, you eliminate 1 from hint 5.
First number is 8, because of hint 1 and hing 5.
Since we have the first number, we can use hint 3 to switch 5 and 7. Giving 857.
Confirms with hint 2.

This is assuming that if a hint contains 1 number correct position and 1 number incorrect position then it will say that they are both incorrectly.
8 and 5 exist on hint 1, but it says only 1 is correct.
5 exists on both hint 1 and 3, in the exact same position, but hint 1 says correct place and hint 2 says incorrect place. It's literally the first thing I deducted.
Please tell me you're not trying to fuck with me
The five can't be in the "well placed" in the first one then "wrong placed" in the third. Five isn't in the answer
It's either 627 or 726
726
2 is correct on the first hint
Second and third make the first number 7
6 is the only number that the other can be (since 1,2 , 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9 are accounted for)
It can't be solved.
From their facebook page
Ah fuck it could be both actually.
This was never an established rule so they can fuck right off
