how are you guys working out 6/6 to be 9?

You do parentheses, division, then multiply (I think).

69?

parentheses, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, and finally subtraction

you stupid pieces of shit

Correct

Not correct

yeah, paranthesis first, i.e. 2(1+2) = 6

and then division 6 / 6 = 1

Pemdas motherfucker.
It should be written as (6 รท 2)(1 + 2), but they use dumbass confusing notation

It is in this order
Brackets/ parentheses
Indices
Division
Multiplication
Addition
Subtraction

It's 6 cause they both equal 3

6/2=3
3(1+2)=
3*1+3*2=9

BIDMAS here

Parantheses + Exponents, Multiplication + Division, and Addition + Subtraction are completed in the order they appear left from right. You solve either parantheses or exponents first depending on the order they appear, etc.

When you're doing the paranthesis, you only do 1+2

And 3x3=

1

6/2(1+2)
= 6/1 * 1/2 * (1+2)/1
= 6/1 * 1/2 * (3)/1
= 6 * 0.5 * 3
= 9

take 'em away boys

I got 1 or 9

9 if you are using normal Polish notation.

(6 / 2) * (1 + 2) = 9

It is definitely 9.

Do brackets first. (1+2)=3

So now the equation is 6 divided by 2 times 3

The answer is 9.

Division comes before multiplication you cock

Guys!I found the answer!
youtu.be/URcUvFIUIhQ

only because you operate from left to right in the presence of both functions

Do I know the answer? Nein!

You really need a youtube video for this?

Why are we trying to do some random kid's homework? I know Sup Forums argues about anything but c'mon now...!

6/6*?

final answer

This guy is correct

Fucking lol told you you were wrong

Really nigga? If I said to solve
6 - 3 + 2 = X, you would tell me 1?? Fuck outta here

The expression is not well defined since its either 9 or 1 depending on if you chose to interpret it as (6/2)*(1+2) or 6/(2*(1+2)).

PEMDAS doesn't state what to do here. The P part of PEMDAS only states that you should compute the expression within the parentheses first. Not that you should distribute (=multiply) 2 with 3 before dividing 6 by 2, multiplication and division have the same order.

Your education had been terrible if you think P in PEMDAS means that multiplication takes precedence over division.

"9?"
