Hows your sister going on? When its the wedding?

I envy you, Ameribros, at least you guys can heat your homes pretty cheaply.

In the average British home like pic related, the winters are a bitch.

Why not just use Lego?

>my house

>built in 1870s
>basement made out of boulders and homemade bricks
>mortar is actual mud and clay
>never even been repointed
>has actual prison bars and a jail door
>all the wood is old growth oak that's as hard as concrete
>all roughcut
>floor joists are actually 2+"x14+" solid oak
>one beam is 8"x14" and is about 40" long
>the wood is literally worth more than the house
>12ft ceilings
>basically fireproof because everything is lined with asbestos
>own it all free-and-clear
>been inside during
>90mph winds, house didn't give a shit
>yard has all original topsoil, can grow anything
>tennessee so property tax is only like $600/year

Yeah it must suck having to chop all that firewood for the muslim lord of the castle.

That looks fucked mate.
My home is very old.
It has the numerals '1722' carved in stone above the doorway. The walls are very thick and can withstand the harshest of weather.
It's above a tailors shop, has a proper wood/coal fire and is super comfy.
My camera is fucked so I can't load a pic, so here's a google image. I've highlighted my home.

Modern buildings are not made to last, sadly.

Pics related a house that my family bought and restored, its over 200 years old and now we go there on vacations.
>got it super cheap from someone who inherited it
>wasn't even declared as a monument of culture , like most houses like this are, so barely any paperwork

Any "stiff paper" in this thread, yet?

>everything is lined with asbestos
What did the last owners die of, just out of interest?

You just reminded me that hundreds of years ago even fucking kings shivered in their castles.
