Is the architect scene in Matrix Reloaded the most annoying scene in cinema history?

The architect basically gives Neo a choice between saving Zion or saving Trinity. So if the only reason "The One" exist is to return to the source and save Zion, why the hell was he given the choice to save Trinity?

When you think about it the agents should have never attacked Neo once he became the "one" since he is a essential to the machine plan. Did the machines forget to tell the Agents about the plan? Shouldn't the Agents just deliver a message to Neo asking to go to the source? Also, isn't it pointless to tell Neo that Trinity is going to die, doesn't that fuck up their own plan? Trinity dying was never part of the machine plan right? Couldn't the architect call the Agent shooting at Trinity to not kill her and keep her as hostage instead that way Neo will be forced to return to the sorce, save Zion and thus stop the extinction of the human race?

this scene did piss me off

the devil is divided against himself. nothing he does makes sense.

the scene is annoying because the architect yaks forever about pedantic bs like a total nerd

Because humans need to be given a choice or at least the illusion of one in order for the Matrix to function properly, which is why the first versions which were 100% utopias or 100% dystopias where all the humans were forced in never worked. It's why in the later versions humans were given a choice between the virtual and the real world and something like 99% of the humans chose the Matrix and the remaining became the population of Zion. This is the function of the Oracle as well, to fool humans into thinking that they have some semblance of free will when really the Oracle is part of the machine system herself. Basically it's a compromise the logical machines have to make to allow for the irrational humans to co-exist in their system. The Agents wouldn't just back off from Neo after they find out he's the One because then the One would not be given that choice and this risks the failure of another system crash. The Architect says the that the One is the result of that unbalanced equation resulting from the choice of some humans to reject the Matrix and so the endless cycle of Zion being destroyed the system rebooted is present to keep the whole thing stable within the instability of human nature.

Thanks for reminding me why I haven't watched these shit movies in 10+ years

He doesn't give Neo the choice, Neo already made the choice before the movie began when he had the dream.

the first movie is literally Plato's allegory of the cave

this one was Aristotle

the matrix movies are literally babbys first philosophy

Yes. Also Trinity died anyway so Neo was a fucking dumbass

Should've just ended it right there

This one was Aristotle? Explain.

Isn't agent Smith actually the one tho?

>There's an infinite amount of Smiths
>One Neo

>GUYS WHAT IF SMITH IS THE ONE?

This. This is all correct.

Damn user you've pretty much clarified all of the trilogy for me in one succinct post, good shit.

yes, the architect shouldn't have looked like colonel sanders. the wachowkis sexual trauma was starting to shine through in this scene.

>that filename
IM DEAD BRUH

Thank you based steak man

>Neo already made the choice before the movie began when he had the dream.

Only the WaKEKskis could come up with an idea as retarded ad this

Someone already made a fan-theory video about Smith being "the one"

youtu.be/VkMU1mKdwPI

10/10 post

Yeah and it's just as retarded as every other fan-theory

The Wachowskis really should have quit while they were ahead

Still doesn't explain why the Architect said that if Neo didn't return to the source and save Zion then everyone connected to the Mateix would die.

"Failure to comply with this process will result in a cataclysmic system crash killing everyone connected to the matrix, which coupled with the extermination of Zion will ultimately result in the extinction of the entire human race."

Yet in Matrix Revolutions, Neo never returns to the Source and everybody in the Matrix was still perfectly fine

What happened to the system crash?

i hate to use this word but it really is pretentious.

It deliberately uses lots of big words to make what he's saying seem a lot more complex.

But he did return to the source in the third movie when he got hooked up to the matrix after striking a deal to defeat smith with the deus ex machina baby thing

ERGO VIS A VIS

>What happened to the system crash?

I always interpreted that as just reinforcing his character as stiff and stilted. He's intelligent, yet still misses the obvious problem with his first few matrix designs.

CONCORDANTLY

This scene was annoying because it was so full of jargon and 5 dollar words that literally no one in the target audience (14 yer old boys) knew what the fuck was going on

inb4 someone tries to pretend they understand what he was saying when they were 14 years old in order to impress strangers they will never meet on an anime forum

INEXORABLY

>What happened to the system crash?
What do you think Smith was?
