Best albums of the decade

Now that the 2010's are 75% over, what albums released so far in this decade should be considered for a top 100 list? Everyone pick one album you want represented and why it should be in the top 100 of the 2010's (so far).

My pick:
M83 - Hurry Up, We're Dreaming (Released October, 2001)

M83 has an amazing catalogue and this double-album is some of the finest work that Anthony Gonzales has ever created. It was his breakthrough album with the huge hit Midnight City, and propelled him from playing small venues (like Black Cat DC where I've seen M83 three times) to opening for Tame Impala at large pavilion shows and one of the headlining acts for various festival shows.
The album's 75+ run time is on the shorter side as far as double albums go, but unlike other double albums released this decade (like Arcade Fire's amazing, but very uneven Reflektor), there are no bad tracks on HUWD. The album is full of singles, experimental tracks, instrumental tracks that link songs together, but it never feels like it loses focus. It begins and ends with two of the best M83 songs of all time, and everything in the middle works extremely well.
I've followed the band since Dead cities was released some 14 years ago and it has been amazing to see the evolution of M83 over their releases. I believe this album should have a spot on the top 100 albums of this decade.

Oh Oo Ah the PER IF ER EEE

Can't we ever just have a positive thread? Why is Sup Forums so depressed?

>2001
Damn time flies

what a shit decade we're having. not a single album that is 10/10

...

WARNING: Underage and tasteless thread

Queens of the Stone Age is cool though

...

Agreed

My 10/10's this decade

Sufjan Stevens - Age of Adz
Matana Roberts - Coin Coin Ch. 1
Tim Hecker - Virgins
Sufjan Stevens - Carrie & Lowell
Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly
Radiohead - A Moon Shaped Pool
The Avalanches - Wildflower

AOTD would probably be Age of Adz

...

Great choices. I never could get into Death Grips, is Money Store considered their best?

Shit, B4L could have two albums on this list. The Bride and Haunted Man are amazing.

Obviously it's debatable but it is the first full album release and it's the one that really blew up. I still consider it their best album.

If you're interested in starting the way most of us did go for their debut mixtape Exmilitary and then check out Money Store. Exmilitary is overly long and has a weaker tail end like all mixtapes but it's fucking raw and lays out the mission statement perfectly.

>mostly hip-hop

Welcome to the 21st century

there's good music that isn't just hip-hop

Who said otherwise?

Ok I just loaded up Exmilitary

Fuck that Jane's Addiction riff already hitting me in the feels

I'M THE KING, MAN
I RUN THE UNDERWORLD, GUY

Very great dance pop album. Even if the version of Dancing On My Own included on this is the inferior version imo, it's one of the best pop songs of the decade.

Seconded

>Sunbather and Yeezus

holy fucking nope

Both of these albums are amazing. Yeezus is easily top 10 of the decade.

its not even top 1000 of the decade

So, I'm digging the shit out of Exmilitary. I think that their live performance shenanigans may have turned me off of them a while ago, but I am really enjoying this album/mixtape

...

Yea that album is bomb.

Definitely get Money Store, it's a lot more focused. More electronic noise as opposed to sample noise but just as aggressive.

no
absolutely not
no
FUCK no
NO
bad picks from last decade, Matana Roberts is the only good pick this decade
Black Up is the only one

...

unironically this

You must be fun at parties

...

and this

pic

catchiest album of the century

I loved this album. Melody and Quicksilver are two of my favorite Boris songs and this, Pink, and Smile are my three favorite releases from Boris. I also love Flood, Amp Worship, and the 2012 Heavy Rocks, but didn't care for Feedbacker.

it's a really underrated album, Angel is probably one of their best songs. Almost every song on it is good really

You must be a fucking newfag

...

dis list gud

>muh guitars

>muh beats

Nails - You will never be one of us

Crazy good grind-core metal then a 8+ minute ending track that sounds better than anything Meshuggah has put out in the past 7 years.

i remember listening the shit out of this album a few years ago

Sauce who is

...

Goddamn aerosol cans keep killing people in my family, Spree-shooters scare the shit outta me, and other fun songs.

Lonerism=Inn>>>>>Currents

Posting the best one.

its been a great decade for meal in general

the 2nd half of Your Tongue Ties and the drumming on the whole thing
they didnt invent anything, they just do what they do well

...

...

Wait would be 10/10 if the whale noises didn't exist

...

>Now that the 2010's are 75% over

I mean I'm sorry for not having your opinion

t. numale

It's been a pretty good decade.

...

...

You must be the type of person who care about how long they've browsed a Somalian knitting forum

>10/10's
Get To Heaven - Everything Everything
Tourist History - Two Door Cinema Club
Worlds - Porter Robinson
The 1975 - The 1975
>Personal picks
Dream Your Life Away - Vance Joy
Sea When Absent - A Sunny Day In Glasgow
Comedown Machine - The Strokes
Happy People - Peace
My Love Is Cool - Wolf Alice

Fucking plebians thinking that some black fella's hood stories are 10\10 album of the century. Ease off the Kendrick, he's nothing special if you're over 16 years old.

Here's what I like tho.

Iceage - Plowing Into The Field Of Love

It's energetic, heartfelt, majestic and raw. I haven't heard an album quite like this.

Seconding this

I'd like to add:
Fhloston Paradigm - The Phoenix
Andy Stott - Luxury Problems

Piss off, jew.

awesome post, dude! :)

Because MPP is too old to qualify, and despite the twee concept, bad mixing and annoying fanbase (myself included), this album is the closest anyone's gotten to matching it.

I would pick Lore over this but not a bad choice.

>Get To Heaven
Great but Blast Doors and The Wheel bring it down
>Tourist History
Just no
>Worlds
Consistent, but consistently 7/10
>The 1975
Robbers, Sex, Menswear and You are perfection. The City, ITSWCWY and Talk! are shit.

Blast Doors is great

Tim Hecker - Virgins

Blast Doors is great but I agree The Wheel is shit

Talk! is also great
