I pressed alt+ctrl+del
8/10 would do again.

>spends $1000 on computer to avoid paying $300
This Summer heat is really starting to get to me

are you retarded?

Shit on cd tray

nah its becouse i wouldnt spend the time to setup an old computer again.
this thing would be a good reason to buy a new one.

Just subscribe to one of those automatic backup services, or have an external harddrive with all of your files backed up onto it. Factory reset, and within less than an hour you'll have your factory the same state it was before.

>you'll have your factory

Why am I a retard, *computer

Safe mode wothout networking and system reztore you newb.

Boot in safe mode and do a rollback.

no, because I run linux

i browse incognito so I wouldnt know.

Nice.

...

Linux master custom fix race.

The boot sector is encrypted. The lack of computer knowledge here is shocking

Damn id paid that amount just to meet IRL the faggot who made this, those kind of scam make me rage

'Murica, nobody is getting this in a paranoia-free country.

You mist live under a rock, or use a codology that is quite intelligent.

I swear Sup Forums makes me smell niggers anymore

Boot section not meaning all functions though. Commands can still be accepted.

lmfao at niggers saving shit on their pc, just delete your life instead of your files

I will maybe delete yonpur life?

Good one.

Doubtful

Capcha made me identify Hair accessories. fuck this world

btw they dont give your files back if you pay, just so you know. you're pretty much fucked and its your own damn fault for not updating your computer, windows released a patch for this shit so the exploit they used doesn't work anymore. (interesting sidenote, the exploit was leaked from the government who was hiding it so they could use it to spy on people!)

Thank you.

It's not like they are hard to find. The Petya team have a Twitter.

I like the way you think.

You only need a new harddrive though.

U should have a back up idealy but anyway install malwarebyte on to usb with different pc launch pc in safe mode and stick usb in then launch program

And random access memory.

No, still waiting for the linux version.

No retard

No this won't work

Lulz, i was hoping you would reply.

Format c and reinstall windows?

Cylance user here. I was given the job of testing our desktops against this.

I picked up an old laptop and spent a whole day running malware from our mail quarantine. 0 outbreaks. I clearly have no shits to give.

So the spread has to be manned to have an effect?

BOOOOOOO!

so you're wasting as much of your time as he does?
what exactly makes you look less pathetic than him?

I'm not wasting my time, you might objectively be wasting your own time considering things you shouldn't, but i am no better than you or him.

If you cant throw your primary hdd out the window and reinstall everything from back ups, you're doing something wrong.

THIS/\

The only way this shit can get on your computer is if you allow it. If you have common sense you won't have to worry.

Do not open suspicious links
Do not download email attachments that you don't trust
Run an anti virus program
Download software you need from trusted sources
Keep your computer updated

If your computer does get infected with 1 of these viruses. You will have to wipe the hard drive and reinstall your OS, then restore your files from a recent backup.

There is no other way around it except paying the ransom and hoping for a decryption key, which I doubt you'll even receive

system restore doesnt affect files

Thank you google.

There's a few different things being conflated.

The original WannaCry was just an issue of scanning the Internet for machines vulnerable for the March SMBv1 vulnerability, and exploiting it. I would have thought no one was dumb enough to put an SMB server on the Internet but the NHS proved me wrong.

There have been a whole string of related malware and worms however which do require people click links in emails and either run an executable, or open a Word document. The latter, people are much likely to do, because they are conditioned that "viruses" don't come in documents, which is wrong.

Then recently, some clusterfuck released NotPetya, which uses a tool to dump all in-memory credentials on your desktop. It then tries to infect every computer on your network using those credentials. If anyone with desktop admin credentials logged onto your machine recently, you're pretty well fucked.

This is very basic knowledge. What more do you want to know?

>Download software you need from trusted sources

Yeah. Like for example, if you're an accountant, you should probably only download MeDoc updates from the vendor.

Just to appreciate your omipotence.

How do I use incognito mode, I really don't want this
You must be such a good hacker

I like that.

He is some sweet piece of malware, oh yeah, I really envy the guys who made that him.
