Why was Thurston thirsty for some more and fucked up a perfect marriage?
Name your favorite 3 songs from this album
Agreed.
Silver Rocket, The Sprawl, Eric's Trip
3 longest ones
My vinyl copy literally just came in the mail. Gonna spin it right after I take a shit. I'm nervous though because it says it's a super remaster. I wanted a regular master.
sonic youth did the impossible
they sold out no wave
proving once again that the market can devour anything
God damn Hey Joni rocks so fucking hard.
It's even getting its hands on noise.
>no wave
When did this subcategory come to be? No one used this word 30 years ago.
Cross the breaze is my favorite
This is the best rock album I've ever heard
the sprawl, 'cross the breeze, hey joni
silver rocket is the only bad track, such a shame
i truly don't understand why everyone likes it so much
>that dissonant main riff
>that noise breakdown
>Thurston putting energy into his vocals
It's good stuff my dude. What do you not like about it?
>No one used this word 30 years ago
Brian Eno is no one?
cross the breeze, candle, the sprawl
I don't remember him using that to define his music or anyone else's. Sonic youth was 'alternative' rock, regardless of what some doofus typed on their Wikipedia page.
Noise rock
That's my favorite album of all time. When I first heard it I was blown away.
How come there's no other album that sound like it? It's not even complex or weird.
Really because I don't get the appeal, can you explain why is it so good?

Mine are actually but my next 3 favorites are Candle, Hey Joni and Cross the Breeze
>How come there's no other album that sound like it?
Sister and EVOL kinda sound like it, but not as fully formed or consistently great. Also, Swirles is kinda like the shoegaze version of SY's sound on this album
