Energy fighting has to do with transferring potential energy into kinetic energy, and vice versa, I.E, by picking up speed during a dive, making an attack run, and bleeding off the speed you've picked up by opening up your throttle, and zoom-climbing back up to your original altitude.

I'm really interested in playing the game, and now that I know the fighting is like a mix of a proper plane game and a proper tank game, I'll probably get it late this year.

Oh yeah, and tanks are a different story.
Movement is essentially life for light tanks.
Medium tanks have to rely equally on positioning and movement, and heavy tanks solely rely on positioning.

It's a wonderful game.

I havent used this computer in forever, made my first post ok, turned on my vpn, couldn't make the second post because pass in in use by another ip bullshit. so now I have to do captchas for 20 min before I can log the pass in and use it on the vpn.

There's a pretty big gap between WoT and WT tanks.
You generally have to rely on ricochets or good aim to penetrate armor in the right places/damage vital systems.

That's how most high tier games in WoT goes. Hope for shot trap hits, or aim for small weak spots. The only real exception is premium rounds. Load click pen, only 75 cents a shot.

From what I've heard, it's ground game is like WoT, but much less arcadey. The hitpoint system of WoT doesn't exist. You destroy a tank much more literally, via crew deaths or internal destruction. Ranging is also not automatic. and actual long range fights can, and do happen.

In Realistic mode, ranging can be performed using a rangefinder that can be equipped using a specific keybind, or using the method shown below. I don't think the rangefinder is available in Sim battles.
