How smart is Sup Forums? Can you survive when you have to use your brains to do so? Let's find out...

You and another 29 sorry anons like you get incarcerated for life, for crimes you might or might not have committed. The warden is a sadistic piece of shit and decides to play mind games with you. So he brings you into this special jail with the following layout: 30 individual cells for you, arranmged in such a way that you have no way to see or hear each other or communicate in any way, and the lever room - an empty featureless room with two levers that can only have two positions - up and down. Of course the lever room is far enough from the cells that there's no way to communicate from it to the cells, not even when an inmate is in transit to and from it. The two levers start on the down position.
The rules for the prison are as follow - each inmate will be isolated in their own cell. At completely rnadom intervals a completely random inmate will be prelevated from their cell and moved to the lever room. There's no rhyme or reason to who will be called and when - the same inmate might be called five times in a row or not evne once in a hundred calls; calls could be days, hours, or minutes from each other; and of course no one else will know who is called and when - total isolation.

In the lever room this prisoner will be able, and in fact forced to, do exactly one thing - move exactly one lever from its actual position. Then they will be escorted to their cell. They will not have any chance to leave hidden messages in the lever room, and in fact the warden will very carefully eliminate any trace, of course without moving the levers.
At any point, after having moved a lever, a prisoner can declare: "At this moment every single inmate, me included, has visited the lever room at least once". If this is true, all prisoners will be freed with a hefty compensation. If it is false, all prisoners will be executed.
This being said, the warden will let you strategize for one hour before escorting each one of you to your individual cells and beginning the game.
So in exactly one hour I will post the solution.

>Update
keep going user

See ya in one hour then

How come I can't report this shit?

Because you like it.

cuz it ain't no shit. It's gold

Because she's not as young as she looks.

>(10)
Don't post the others or I'll call FBI

What do you get out of seeing it on Sup Forums anyway? It's not like evne the clearnet is lacking in CP, mostly self-produced and in better resolution
Is it the thrill of the forbidden where it should not be?
Because I started for that but then I realized the thrill of the forbidden is a very asinine reason to risk getting v&

So im trying to figure this out and im starting with something easier, let's say the peisoners are only 2 so if you want to know if everyone has been there at least once you just have to check if the lever is in a different position from last time you moved it. So I'm hoping that with 30 it has something to di with this...

Still me
Actually this is not very effective since the other prisoner might go in there twice and leave the lever the same, eventually it would work though

Guys there's someone posting CP all over Sup Forums probably because some Sup Forums shit is down and we cant report it mods won't find this thread until we report it

>thrill
Yes
>getting banned on Sup Forums
It's not like you can't just reset your IP.
Nobody knows the sites to find this since this place is always newfag heaven.
I only came here for the puzzle.

That was my thought but I see no way of prisoners knowing when to position levers differently.

Perhaps I was not very clear, but you have one hour to strategize before the game - together with everyone else. That means you can coordinate with each other, use it.
I don't care much about the poster being banned, I just want the pic to disappear.

OP please tell us at least if it's a smart ass answer like tell every prisoner to poo on the floor once and count every poo if they're 30 you win

Ah sorry, I didn't read the last bit. I'm not sure what kind of a strategy to use. I'll try to think of something.

I think poo counts as a secret message

Easy, deathmatch for one hour where only one person survives.

Survivor gets called in, says the magic words and get's the cash.

No, it's not a faggoty answer (the warden would clean the poop anyway), it's not analyzing every word to find a loophole and it's not breaking the spirit of the puzzle while keeping to the letter of it.

Counting is involved though.

Something tells me the first lever is for actually counting and the second is just for when a prisoner enters more than oucne

Yeah but how could you tell by the levers how many inmates have been in the room?

Yeah Im not sure

are there toilets in the cells?
If yes, tell everyone to empty the water out of the toilets so we can use the drain for communication

This is impossible!

I believe in fact it can be done with only one lever, but I am probably wrong. I am assuming the levers start in an up position.
Step 1: Appoint 1 prisoner as scorekeeper.
Step 2: For the rest: if lever A is up when they enter, they should put it down IF they have not already put it down (in which case they should leave it), and if it is already down then they should leave it.
Step 3: Whenever the appointed scorekeeper enters, if the A lever is down then he will add one to his mental total and put it up again.
This repeats until the Scorekeeper has counted 29 in total. Would take years but would work eventually would work. Process could of course be sped up by using the same method with both ie. if you haven't already pushed down a lever and one is down put down the other, the Scorekeeper counts 2 at a time

Nice user I'm voting for this

You assign 1 man as a counter. This man is responsible for 1 lever, Lever A. The rest of the 29 men are responsible for the 2nd lever,Lever B.
Both levers start down.

The counter will only count when Lever A is up, and will reset it to down.
the other men will only move Lever A up the FIRST time they enter the room. If not they move Lever B.

After the counter counts he has reset lever A 29 times, all inmates have been in the lever room. He is the only one who can make this declaration.

I think this would actually work, but it would just take forever

this is correct EXCEPT the problem states you have to move a lever when you enter the room. So you do need 2 levers, one as a counter for the scorekeeper, and one as a redundant switch for those who have entered multiple times

YES only problen is with the 2 method way the scorekeeper cant push both levers back up, anyway you have to move at least one lever so the second lever can be used just casually if you have already pushed the first lever down (when you have already entered the room once)

Signaling. It's done the same way with factory robots.
Appoint a leader - only one person that will make the call - all other 29 have the same job; to communicate to the leader. They do this by doing the following - if the right lever is down they move the left lever, if the right lever is up they pull it down, once they've pulled it down once they move the left lever for all subsequent visits. The leader resets the right lever each time he visits and keeps a tally. When the right lever has been down 29 times for the leader he moves it to the up position and says "At this moment every single inmate, me included, has visited the lever room at least once"

This

oh in addition to this, If one of the 29 men sees lever A is up and it's his first time in the room, he will move Lever B.

the non-scorekeepers only will move A up if 1. they have not moved A before and 2. if A is in the down position. You must wait for the counter to reset it.

The warden congratulates you and realizes at this point it would just be useles to incarcerate everyone only on the off chance someone fucks it up.
You are all pardoned for whatever crimes you committed and freed with a large sum of money and a lot of unseen CP to enjoy.
The warden tells you that if people had listened to your idea for speeding up the process everyone would probably end up dead.
As punishment you don't get any CP (you still get pardoned and money though)

This is by far my favourite explanation, it feels like programming.

Id save everyone the boring waiting and just kill 'em all

This is the correct solution, but the problem does need to state that, given enough time, every person will eventually be called an arbitrary number of times. Otherwise, the scorekeeper might only be called once or twice, and so people will never be freed. Or even more trivially, there might just be some poor fucker who never gets called at all.
