Venezuela

Just wanted to let our Venezuela friends know we are seeing horrible things in the news going on there. Terrible conditions, terrible injustice from the government.

I don't know what will happen. Please stay safe and healthy. Go where it is safe and stay with family and friends when you can and organize when possible. Beware of soldiers, gangs and criminals.

Most of all, be safe.

There are no people from Venezuela here, dumb Yank. When your country collapses you don't go about posting on an Asian based imageboard.

They're not that rare.

We can't tell if they are proxies or not. There's only one legit venezuelan as far as I know, and believe me I know it all. I could tell you what you had for breakfast

But I have seen Venezuelans here.

They posted lots of nice pictures, like this picture of Mt. Roraima and we talked about the Catatumba river and all the lightning there.

I'm sure they're fine OP

Yeah I sorta grew out of that sort of thing a long while back, no offense

Pfft who gives a shit?

I really don't know what to think anymore

Realize that Socialism is the reason your country went from having the 4th highest GDP per capita in 1950 to a failed state in 2017, and go from there.

You dont have to think. Save philosophy for later. Right now, just do what you can to stay healthy and safe. Stay in touch with friends, neighbors and family. Stay alert and be prepared. Be ready to move if it becomes necessary, to travel, and have tools you may need to keep fed and deter criminals. And beware of mobs and looters. Good people can become aggressive and dangerous when they are desperate. Just be where food, water and safety are. If good people are organizing, maybe you can stay close to them, but still be vigilant.

lol
If Venezuela collapses your country is going to be the first one to take advantage of this though
(And you will most probably fuck them hard)

>ust wanted to let our Venezuela friends know we are seeing horrible things in the news going on there. Terrible conditions, terrible injustice from the government.
Yeah, that shit has been going on for years now. Thousands migrated.

Stop posting that shit this is not Sup Forums

kys my friend

kek, do you think venezuela is like the walking dead?

They're on a crisis but come on.

hence why the USA is the example to the world!

why are americans so sincere and naive

because their lives are so shit that they want to believe chaos is happen everywhere to lighten up their mood. It was the same when the police was on strike in Vitória, they were all YEAH YEAH CHAOS YEAH YEAH PEOPLE DYING YEAH SEE THIS IS WHAT COMMUNISM DOES TO OTHER COUNTRIES YEAH

The US response to the collapse of Venezula has been complete isolation to the situation. Obama banned immigration from the country when shit went bad.

The US tried to save South America from communism, and we somehow got blamed for "fucking up the region" so we have since left them to their own devices.

>we somehow got blamed for "fucking up the region"

You made them martyrs, all you had to do was to let them fail, but no, you had to show up and give the left an excuse.

>The US tried to save South America from communism, and we somehow got blamed for "fucking up the region" so we have since left them to their own devices.
Even if you did try to "save" us from communism you did a pretty shit job my friend and you should nuke yourselves

At what point do you stop blaming the US for everything bad that happens in South America? At what point do you take responsibility for your own flaws?

The US fought Communism even harder domestically than it did abroad, and US voters ultimately rejected it.

At what point will you stop blaming the Arabs/Niggers/Mexicans for everything bad that happens in the USA? At what point do you take responsibility for your own flaws?

Those minorities are fighting harder to have their lives and live the american dream!

Bueno, aja. Mañana será otro día de protestas.

Chavez was never the same after the" porque no Te callas" incident.

Soon. We're just going through the same phase that happened in the 70s-80s with ultra polarization. We're slowly coming together again.

kek, yeah sure. If anything your country is forever doomed due to extreme individualism, globalization and the greed of those on top, that will destabilize entire continents just to continue their global domination plan and create a world where is forever stabilized with them on top. And our catholic socialist culture is one of the various stepping stones in their way

No pasó nada hoy con todos los militares en las calles?

thanks for your nice feelings, unironically

Cuba has much more blame in the Venezuelan problem than the USA.

Cuba was first a parasite of the Soviet Union, they would give them worthless sugar in exchange for 20 billion dollars per year they wasted in having one of the 10 most powerful armies in the world, training guerrillas in Latin America and being involved in African wars like Angola.

When their sugar daddy Soviet Union died, they were alone for a decade, until they discovered they could exploit Venezuela in the same way for free oil.
Venezuela is currently full of Cuban high level apparatchik who support Maduro, I hope if there is a civil war they all get murderer.

The best thing JuanCar ever gave us leaving aside the coup.

murieron 2 personas y una multitud se metió en un río contaminado para lavarse la cara porque les ardían los ojos (los bombardearon desde helicópteros con latas de gas pimienta)

What you're saying is inherently contradictory. If you were rich and greedy, globalization would be bad for you. As long as competing nation states exist, you can move to a country that doesn't redistribute wealth.

Honestly, I asked myself why the news was reporting on it, because our news never reports on countries outside the US unless the Jew is involved somehow.

Sure enough, the eventually admitted that their concern was middle easterners who had been granted Venezuelan passports by the thousands.

Our media is a horrible scam. Its not just that they lie, but they refuse to honestly tell us what goes on in the world around us if it does not benefit certain people.

For example, we are constantly to believe that Iran means us harm, yet I have never heard of an Iranian terrorist. In truth, a nuclear Iran only threatens Israels hegemony in the region, which is what this recent Syria business is about, and Israel is hinting they want more bombings.

Meanwhile, our own neighbors to the south suffer horrible violence where tens of thousands have died, but they never find time to talk about it.

We are truly an occupied nation, if there is any nation at all. I often wish it would all go away so we could start over with a little dignity.

kek, you are naive my friend. Do you think people on top really care about taxes and nation states? they own them all my friend, if anything they are just a annoyance to them, hence why they want to get rid of them in the long term and have companies and technology to rule everybody a la Brave New World, just look at trump bombing Syria and other things people thought they have broken the establishment by electing him. Money controls those that depend on the system, those that are on top of the system don't give a shit about money and have their own objectives

I admit I dont know much about it. I just hope recovery comes soon. We are blessed in the new world with peace and good neighbors in Latin America, and its hurtful to see when good people in our part of the world suffer needlessly. South America deserves better than this. In this day and age, this should not be, not here.

>At what point do you stop blaming the US for everything bad that happens in South America?
I don't blame the US for anything, I'm informing you about what the left says in their political speeches.

Get some fucking learning comprehension.

We might as well try to engineer a coup
Maduro keeps saying we are trying to anyway
No sense in disappointing him

You're just watching trash news. The economic collapse in Venezula has been major world news for a year now.

>Norway does petrol funded social democracy
>a stable and prosperous society follows
>Venezuela does petrol funded social democracy
>Venezuela becomes a failed state

Why does socialism work sometimes but not others?

The difference is that Norway is already on the sphere of globalization and embraced globalization values and Venezuela didn't. Hence they need to bleed and be shown that their culture is shit and adapt themselves to globalization

I know, but they reported on it again today. Its getting really bad in the city and there is little the people can do for basic civilized standards.

I hear things are still pretty shaky next door in Colombia too. I've read horrible things that go on there with the military.

We seem to think it can't happen here, but we are wrong. To see these sorts of things in other parts of the world is not surprising. But our hemisphere has enjoyed civilization as a standard. When areas start breaking down like this, its very worrisome.

So many parts of Central and South America do so very well, even after hard times. And yet some places struggle. They are not so different and like the same things we do. Its difficult to understand why some places struggle so often.

Norwegians are animals
Their prisoners are only allowed to have two generation old game console systems in their studio apartment cells

This comes from a good heart but it has a condescending air to it

You know what I think' I think Venezuela needs some american intervention to make it all better.

Come on US bros, invasion when?

>Venezuela
>democracy

This is irony, right? We'd better not get involved in Venezuela. Not our responsibility and we're likely to fuck it up worse anyway.

Norway will fail just the same as Venezula if it doesn't move away from its reliance on a petro-state socialism.

Socialism requires a balance that does not exist in nature.

It is good for maintaining a static system. Once it encounters any other society or adversity, it starts to fall apart. It does not grow, it just maintains. If it tries to grow, it warps.

It also holds false ideas about humans and government to be true. It also suggests certain systems can function in perpetuity which can't.

An unfortunate aspect of humanity is that a society has to keep growing in some way or it will start to turn on itself. There always has to be more going into the system, growth, expansion, in some way.

If a society's goal is simply to maintain, it will eventually shrink, and implode on contact with other system.

The alternative to socialism isnt pretty either. Its is the food chain of humans upon humans competing for space and resources. But thats how it is, thats how it works with people.

Doubt.jpg

I only meant that people may not be aware of danger and hazards that can erupt quickly when civilization starts breaking down.

I did not mean to sound condescending. Frankly, I didn't appreciate the other user lecturing to a population that is in trouble about philosophy when they need to be focusing on practical matters at hand. That perturbed me. If there is negativity in it, its because of that. Im sorry if it seemed condescending.

Venezuela had the 4th highest GDP per capita in 1950. Norway is full of oil Niggers. Their cushy nanny state won't work after they run out of resources, which is why they're desperately trying to diversify their economy.

well i'm glad you're willing to just leave an entire country without freedoms because it's "not your responsibility"

That's OK, no harm done man. Again, it came from a good place, it's the thought that counts.

Maybe condescending wasn't the best word. Maybe... sappy? However assuring people that their survival is more important than stroking the ego of internet pseudo-intellectuals is a nice message. You did good.

Whenever we decide it is our responsibility people just get mad at us.

How are we tied with Canada?

The barbarians drink milk from a plastic bag, for gods sake. They wont use ice and yet they will drink raw water. A primitive people to say the least.

You sound like an out of place redditor that thinks everybody just needs a hug and there will be world peace without realizing you're ultimately the most racist piece of shit people on Earth that treat minorities like children instead of adults that can take banter.

long time ago, we had the most powerful navy in the entire pacific...

Good old times...

1. I do not/can not use Reddit.
2. I recognize the general nature of the site. However I do not subscribe to every meme. I was much more active here once, a very long time ago. Now I mostly only come when I want to communicate directly with people in a country.

I was concerned with what I've been seeing, and unable to do anything about it, thought I could at least come and extend the courtesy of compassion, to let them know they are not alone in the world and that people are being informed up here of the situation.

tl;dr- I grew up. That's why the banter doesn't interest me.

Telling people who have continually been babied by """"""Compassionate""""" economic policies that have slowly destroyed their country from the inside out that they shouldnt worry about trying to realize why their country is in such a shit state in the first place is not real compassion. It's bullshit to make yourself feel better better.

Venezula is shit because of socialism. There is no sugar-coating it. Stop treating the situation like Venezula like everything that's happening isn't largely their own fault, and they need to deal with it.
