So were they just trying to be like Remain in Light?
So were they just trying to be like Remain in Light?
How in the blue bloody blazes does Synchronicity sound anything like Remain in Light?
basically stings first solo record
If your mom likes the police chances are shes pretty cool.
And no, this album is nothing like remain in light, but 80's pop rock is a great fucking genre and very underrated.
Just look at The Outfields "Play Deep"
>80s pop rock
>literally most muh nostalgia genre for the past 20 years
>underrated
you continue to baffle me, Montie
Where did you come up with such a thoughtless comparison?
By RYM users mostly. The fact that Asia is not a 4/5 baffles me
The weird thing is the Police and Talking Heads both evolved really quickly, at around the exact same time. Their two greatest records both occured in 1979-1980 with Remain in Light and Zenyatta Mondatta actually released within a week of each other. They both added worldbeat at about the same time. The only difference is that the Police used reggae added to a bit of jazz as a base, as opposed to the Heads who used funk as a base.
Both, to me, are the peak of New Wave but I give a slight edge to the Police. Synchronicity sounds nothing like Remain in Light. However, does anybody sound like either band?
Good points, but you've got their best records wrong......Police's was Regatta and Talking Heads was MSAB&F
Go be retarded somewhere else Montie
Yep - and Talking Heads 'Stop Making Sense' tour took place almost simultaneously with Police Synchronicity tour, which would be their last.
That would have been a good time.
Do you just think every new wave album is a Talking Heads wannabe?
Well isn't it odd that a vast majority of new wave bands sounded awfully similar to the Talking Heads?
that song is literally members of Talking Heads...
The Police played reggae-tinged New Wave.
Talking Heads played afropop-tinged New Wave.
They're two different regions being appropriated.
>that song is literally members of Talking Heads
>awfully similar to the Talking Heads?
>posts Talking Heads side-project
is this bait?
This is now an 80's New Wave General
Were Oingo Boingo the original red pilled band?
youtube.com
Wailing guitars, off-key instrumentation, quirky instrumentation
You can say that about 30 different new wave acts. Why not mention pare ubu or devo while your at it?
This is now a Japan Thread
youtube.com
>devo
Maaan, why did music decide to start being as bland and boring as possible?
>appropriated
Oh fuck yes. Gimme some life in Tokyo
Thanks, desu. That's a really nice Dave pic you posted too, btw. I'm going to add it to my collection
you cant get more redpilled than this song:
