A couple of weeks ago some some user in another thread asked if there was a single hip hop record ever created without a single line of political/social commentary. After picking through the lyrics of dozens of albums, we concluded that this was the only one. Truly a classic.

KNUCK IF U BUCK

I thought that these were highly acclaimed. In any case, good selections.

It's not on any hip-hop charts for Sup Forumscore, and normies think Biggie and Tupac are the only things to come from the 90s, so they're really only really held in high regard usually by people who are actually in hip-hop

Just kidding
Clockwork Indigo EP- Clockwork Indigo

y'all niggas aint got shit on gangsta boo

That ain't underrated, maybe recently. Ultramag is my fucking jam tho.

The Goats - Tricks of the Shade
The Goats - No Goats No Glory

Everything by Pharoahe Monch

Fu-Schnickens - Nervous Breakdown
(kind of ironically, but also really. The novelty wears off, but there's nothing else out there like it.)

KNUCK IF YOU BUCK HOE

superior 2000s Mob group coming through

This duo should've been much bigger than they were

I will shill this masterpiece until the end of time

One of the best Rap albums of the 2000s

Critically underrated

Yeah, you right

this album was never released officially, which is disappointing because it has some great tracks on it:

Absolutely. I was gonna post this as well. Has shit reviews, because most people sleep on his understated poetic style and internal rhymes. The production is pretty distinct too. Very cartoonish and sound effect heavy at times.

Love this part:

>I remember when I was on the ave clutching them dimes/gut touchin my spine, bustin my rhymes/feelin like I'm livin in them lost times/no sight of the future, damn right I'll shoot ya/palm tight on the rooster/old in the face cause this hold on my case/got my growth at a fast pace/old folks like, "Obie? Oh he's a bad case./"He won't last. His track record'll do the math."

His choice of wording, imagery, metaphor is just so unique, imo.

Who are you quoting?

op
none of these are really underrated

This was the only record they made together, he(charizma) died in a car accident or something. Recorded in the early 90s but didn't make its way to an offical release because it took PBF forever to get Stones Throw moving.

...

yes they did a project(LP) called Big Shots.

more like this pls

Heltah Skeltah - Nocturnal
Smif n Wessun - Dah Shinin
Mad Skillz - From where???

Better than Straight Outta Compton

i prefer honey cocaine

more like 6 months ago lmao. i was the one who posted that album. good shit.

Mind you most of these aren't obscure, but they sure deserve more props than they get

It's pretty boring other than Mad Izm honestly.

Agree

Yeah, the Candle and I am Hip Hop are great songs.

Title track is overrated, rest of the album is underrated.

For sure.

Dirty South needs more love
