how much took you to find your first job? what it was? is hard to find a job in your country?

with mass immigration, it's getting difficult for young people to find a job. employers can easily hire immigrants on the cheap.

that's why you get higher education.
nobody wants the jobs the imigrants get.

not even you.

It depends where you live.
It took me 2 months when I was 12.
I've been working ever since, I'm nearing 40.

Key thing, you have to lower your standard.
Be willing to clean up shit. Be willing to scrub public toilets. Be willing to do back breaking labor in the blazing sun.
You will get a job if you are willing to do what it takes.

I can second this, been working at different places since I was 18, nearly 30 now and not a single job has been pleasant.

Got my first job at 21. Got the recommendation through family for a shitty industrial job that only paid $10/hr. It was still enough to move out and get married.

TLDR; 2 years

I graduated high school at the apex of the economic crash in 2008. Back then every employer said that they already laid off a bunch of staff and wouldn't be hiring for a long time. But my uber conservitive Christian parents where convinced that, because I was an atheist heathen, surely I was lying about trying to get work. They said if I didn't bring home job applications 5 days a week they would kick me out on the street. So there I was at Taco Bell for the 7th or so time asking for another application when the manager pulled me aside and told me that they would only hire people with at least 2 years of fast food experience and to stop wasting their application forms. It was hopeless. I would take the bus to malls and shopping centers just to collect applications and apply. One day my dad let me have his piece of shit 150cc Chinese scooter made to look like a motorcycle. I sold it for $400 and used it to get a license to be a security guard with all the extras like fire arm permits and first aid. Even with that I was given the cold shoulder by security companies that scoffed at me being too young and inexperienced. Damn near a year later I got a call out of the blue from a guy I had met at my sister's birthday party. He said he remembered me mentioning I was getting nowhere with my guard license. He said someone at his security company got fired they needed someone with the proper license to replace asap and if I could start tomorrow the job was mine. And that's it after applying for hundreds of jobs I finally got one because "I knew a guy"

It's really who you know, rather than what you know in this life

Where are you livin?

IT trainee when I was 18. Got it because people doing the hiring process were family friends.

When I was 17 I got a job at a local Banana Republic very easily, my town had a large strip mall so one day I just went to like every place and asked for applications and eventually got a job.

Bro I had a solid work record from 15-22 but been between jobs doing little shit for money, literally just flipped because I have an opportunity to make 60 bucks next week. Shit sucks. Get a shit job, educate yourself at night and find connections somehow or you will be fucked.

>how much took you to find your first job? what it was? is hard to find a job in your country?

About three months after highschool, during this country's huge recession.
If you're 18 you should be willing to take any shit job you run into. Payment might be as shit as it comes, but at least you have something to brag about in your resume.
Remember, oldfags value experience above all. Know your enemy.

Lol i got the first job i applied for when i got my first job

Simple, like someone already said, lower your standards, check what skills you have and go from there, took me like 2 days to find a job, my main skill back then was speaking english, worked in a call center (not in fucking India), from there I got better at university and now I got a fairly good IT job, but at the beginning you gotta suck it up and get real.

Cool if only everyone in the economy had such a big dick and sense of humour we'd all be fine.

You could get into porn, as long as you don't have any diseases and you're willing to fuck anyone at any time. Also, depending on the laws in your country, you could become a prostitute.

Just be born into a family with a very successful, multi-million dollar company like I did. Been here for over a decade, make great money and since I'm part of the "royal family" I can come and go as I please and work from home whenever I want.

So yea, just do it that way. It's worked out great for me.

you kinda need money to pay for that education

Applied for bagging position at 16 at a grocery store. Was hired 3 days after applying.

But that was 10 years ago during the year before the 2008 financial/housing crisis.

Sweet dude how's your life turning out? Serious question.

Network Tech for a cable company and I'm 27.

I got over 400k saved up in a 401k I did have over 80k in the stock market but I've pulled it almost out and put it into savings because I'm scared about a potential bubble in the stock market cause interest rates have to go down at some point and that could mean a big drop. So if the stock market falls, I'll put a lot back in.

It's to the point to where I could retire at 40 but not sure if I'll do that since I don't really dislike my job.

Well, you just figured out the secret. Stop blabbing and telling everybody.

I work in a pretty cushy (not really all that fucking cushy. Just pays well w great benefits. Humiliating work) government job and only hire people I know.

In my defense, it is a great way to avoid retards and assholes.

Occasionally I will hire someone that somebody I trust knows. Been burned twice with this one, but still more reliable than some wildcard carrying an application.

So, know people and don't be a retard or asshole and the jobs will flow.

You could try trucking, there are ads on craigslist and they pay for your greyhound and hotel as you train. Free breakfast that's it, you pay for or other food. So you get your class a training and license from them but you'll owe 5k, you can pay it off by staying with them driving for a bit or just leave because u have the license anyway.

Got a job in IT 10 days after my master degree, pay was in line with my almost none experience. I sent out something like 30 applications online in one day, done 3-4 interviews and got a job proposal. This was 5 years ago, in Italy.

I'm in the uk now. It took me two months to find a job here, but admittedly the recruiting process is slower.

(UK here)
Literally walked into it. I was working part-time at a supermarket, got an apprenticeship lined up at a software company through a training provider. Quit the market on Friday, started at the software company on Monday.

At 16 I left school with no qualifications, still needed a job though...
Stated working in a food factory illegally for an agency (paid in cash, no tax etc.) - all other agency employees were illegal immigrants. Within a few days factory management recognised I spoke English and was literate/numerate - got employed directly by the factory and promoted.
At 20 I applied for a junior job in a government department, passed the entrance tests and started work. Over the next 20 years I have been promoted several times, studied and passed professional Audit and Assurance qualifications and now have a senior position with a decent salary.

If you can't demonstrate more value with your language ability and understanding of american customs than an immigrant you dont deserve a job. High unemployment is mostly fuckwads and disabled people. If you really want a job and hustle there's no reason you can't get one in under a month. You just dont want it bad enough yet.

Jobs with higher education are also being given to immigrants to save cost too.

>how much took you to find your first job?

Nothing, a friend told me about this job and got hired that same day, started working the next day.

>what it was?
scaring the shit out of people at my local amusement's park haunted house

>is hard to find a job in your country?
No

Worked at an arcade from 16-18. Was the shit most days. Can beat house of dead with both guns on one playthru and we used to have marvel vs. Capcom tournies with the hot topic guys and this 12 yo kid whos parents owned the only chinese place in the food court. Chillest job.
