Why don't African-Americans have much interest in their heritage?
I mean I'm always looking up British history because I'm intrigued by it. But you never hear of african americans talking about their african ancestors and what they did.

They don't have the realization that they aren't indigenous to the US, they think their history began as us workers.
Because they know nothing about their ancestors, silly. There are very few surviving records from the days of the slave trade. Only DNA testing would allow most African-Americans to trace their lineage to any given tribe, and that is not cheap.
They aren't taught shit about whatever heritage they have because slave owners never cared and mixed blacks like they were dogs. All their taught is slaves come from Africa and that's it
Because their ancestors were just random slaves in Ghana who got sold to European traders.
They don't know their heritage hence they call themselves "African American" rather than the specific country, tribe or nation they come from.
I'm not really talking about slave trade era. I'm referring to the time before that.
perhaps you are african american according to this post kek
They only came to the us in the 1800s..
>you never hear of african americans talking about what their african ancestors did.
Probably beacause they didn't do anything of value.
>be African American
>look up family history
>reach about great-grand father and find a slave with no prior history because no one was keeping track
most of them have no clear history other than vaguely African which is why most of them shut it out altogether
This is a bold-faced lie nigga. There were Africans at Jamestown.
Because they don't know. They don't come with "contains parts made in Uganda" stickers on their heels. All they know is that their ancestors were taken from somewhere in Africa. For what it's worth, though, a lot of white Americans couldn't tell you where their ancestors are from; they're just Americans.
England only colonized in the 1800s.
I can tell you where they are from, west Africa.
They wuz pharoez n shit and they wuz also romanz n greeks as well.
it's pretty boring. European and Asian history is so much more exciting and interesting.
Because most of their religion and culture is mixed in with European religion and culture. That and their tribes are long since dead.
Which country/tribe/whatever?
>WE WUZ KANGZ
They love their heritage.
show me ONE example of a black actually saying something similar to this line
1600s, moron
Didn't that start from some meme video where nig chimps out during lecture?
Uh, I'm not this guy, but it's pretty common.
I used to work with a lot of black people, and dealt with a lot of black customers (it was a kitchen job).
There was a girl on our staff who had Nefertiti on her arm. I asked her why, and she said "it's my heritage."
And I've seen black customers with ankh necklaces, ankh tattoos, ankh earrings.
A lot of them really fancy themselves as Egyptians, it's not a meme.
*a tattoo of Nefertiti on her arm, that is
It came from the Barbossa meme.
civ V?
Youre welcome btw for bringing them over
Based on where there ancestors brought and movement of their family you can hazard a pretty decent guesstimate on where the slaves were picked up from. Like The Caribbean it's easier to know which are and people you were from because they were obtained from mostly the same locations.
An Age of empire pic fora newly released expansion that got turned into several memes over time then beaten dead like most memes are.
are they allowed to stand up?
1600s there wasn't a population.
>genuinely don't know when an american is shitposting or being actually retarded
Us population 1700 200,000
how did it grow out of control so fast?
jamestown existed
No but there's a guy who flips them over so that they cook on both sides.

damn, really made me think
woah...
They were property, and they were treated and traded as such. In the US, it would be anyone's guess.
Probably because records on specific slaves are hard to find. Furthermore people normally do so for prestige or pride. Not much of that from being someone's property.
Because you hit a hard wall during the 1800s. There are plenty of slave era documents to dig through and find your heritage, but it's not a pleasant experience. If you're tough enough to do that, you're still fucked. Most African Americans are mixes from several different areas in Central and Western Africa, so you're not going to be able to find anything more specific than that.
Can't even look up the history of your name. It's just some surname given arbitrarily by some slave master 300 years ago.
Germany imported 1 million black people in 1 year.
So they will soon have a population of 80 million black people.
Germanies population is also 80 million.
Germanys major cities are only half German.
The numbers all add up.
