This thread is for the discussion of the language, culture, travel, daily life, etc. of Japan. Let's tark at randam in Japanese and English. Take it easy!
You can use の as a possessive for other people (あなたの, 君の ...). Do I have to do the same when addressing people with their name, when I mean "Your"? E.g. たなかさんのパーティーは楽しいだった
Or can I just use their name and if I'm talking directly to their face, the fact I mean "Your" would be obvious. This is hypothetical, I know I don't even have to say "Your".

Have any of you tried to make onigiri with capelin?
I want to try make it because I haven't eat any fish for several years and capelin is pretty cheap over here.
I've never eaten Capelin onigiri. But it would be good. Maybe you could make chopped Capelin to marinade or pickled in shoyu(preferably with wasabi) then use it as filling of onigiri. It's just my 2cents.
Gavin Richardson
>I've never eaten Capelin onigiri Why? They don't make those in Japan?
Jeremiah Lewis
They don't. The most common way to eat Capelin here is just grilling.
Once I was sick of grilling and then I started deep frying them and making them Marinade or pickled in wasabi shoyu. Those were quite good.
But deep flying the Capelin make them exploded in hot oil. So I made many holes on their body by knife and made the frying pan covered.

By the way, how do you cook Capelin in Russia?
