Why have white middle class kids turned grime from one of the most exciting genres in the UK into a living meme? Can't they just be happy listening to Oasis and Arctic Monkeys?
Some of them weren't even born when the genre was at it's best, yet they're acting like it's a new music revolution because the NME decided it's now cool to like black music.
The fact you're posting about it on Sup Forums means you're part of the problem, faggot Why would you care about grime outside of select releases from Dizzee, Ghetts & Wiley anyway? Grime is inherently subpar.
I've only heard good hip hop from 4 countries: the US, Canada, Chile, and Ireland. The UK should stop, if they had it in them they would've figured out how to do it by now.
I personally feel privileged to be old enough to remember when most grime was cringeworthy, low-budget shit you saw on one particular music channel. The irony of it being gentrified by 14-year-old girls from Kent is hilarious.

my god... 'boy in da corner' was nearly 15 years ago..
besides, a complaint about 1 scene applies to anything once social media is thrown into the mix...nothing is exclusive

Is that Patrick Warburton saying "L" over and over?

As a white middle class guy, grime is one of those genres that are only enjoyable for me when the artists are somewhat self-aware & don't take themselves too seriously. I feel guilty for liking trash like Bizzle & Stormzy but something about semi-ironically putting on a trashy personality & playing trashy music for a bit of a laugh is really fun-in-spoiler-tags. Same goes for when metal bands like GWAR/SYL do it. I have shit taste though but there you go
