very subtle transitions between contrasting sounds. sounds like you started out as a DJ by the use and mixing of multiple pallets.
vocals melody sounds very thoughtful and doesn't take away from the overall feeling of the first song. have you guys been playing for along time together? It sounds like it
I like when i can't compare a vocalist to anybody i've heard. This has got that.
soundcloud.com/dante-jason I make the best fucking music in this thread, you can try to give me criticism but my ambient is the best ambient
Zachary Allen
really really liking this. percussion and harmonies in the chorus are beautiful. usually i find that overproduction on these sorts of tracks is kind of a crutch, but the mix adds a vital element here. felt like the bridge of a mass effect game or some shit.
Thanks for the feedback, we actually haven't been playing together for too long, glad our music gave off that vibe though.
I seriously love everything about this song, really cool production, great vocal melodies and acoustics.
Would like to see this idea expanded on, has a lot of potential.
As someone who's not into metal generally I can't offer super detailed feedback, composition wise it sounded great. I feel like the mix is a little dry, there's not much "oomph" to it.
Jayden Wright
yeah, I had never did much mixing before. This came out better than the demo but I plan on working on my mixing in future, I definitely think there's plenty of room to improve my mixing skills
>38 mins of beat instrumentals >boombap, lo-fi, raw >sampled >remixes DOOM, scHoolboyq, jonwayne, more

I dig this a lot, Recc, extremely unique and i love the poetry, but you could work a bit on the instrumentals, either a bit lower in the mix, or a little less jarring IMO
>mfw
Good flow, nice production, dont know what else to say, not really my style of hip-hop but it sounds good so hey, keep doing you.
Damn those are some sexy beats you got there, although you could probably work a bit on the vocals, but you know, the only way to get better is to practice so just keep doing what you already are, it sounds real nice already!
Recc x5
Recc, very very nice arrangement, and the production is very nice on the intrumentals, although the vocals could be a bit higher, he sings very well but its hard to hear what at times
Aahh very nice, saved for a study session, instrumental mixtapes like this are golden in those situations, and this sounds veeerry pleasant.

sounds like you might have a background in some choir, the songs aren't laying out with typical formulas but everything still remains in its right place. it's neat listening to stuff like this because as a first time listener i'm pretty much putting trust in you to not sour the feelings your conjuring. Sounds informed
Parker Perez
commented on the first song too, but yeah i dig your style a lot, although i find the drums to be a bit jarring in the mix at times, although i understand thats the aesthetic you were going for. With that said, it is some very pretty lowfi and some interesting arrangements, reminds me of mt. eerie, big ups!
>Psychedelic >Space Rock >Noise Pop >Shoegaze >One Man Band >I Sing Now >Music To Watch Rain Fall To >Also Music To Bake In The Sun To >Basically Music For Every Season But Spring >Fuck Spring

My latest album, Here Comes Everybody, is here! Pretty proud of the project - inspired by Finnegans Wake, I guess it's made up of electronic soundscapes that are made to be evocative and winding. I drew from artists such as OPN, Aphex Twin, Jon Hopkins, Arthur Russell, Talk Talk, Can, The Knife, King Crimson, Miles Davis, and many others. Downloads and feedback are very much appreciated. Thanks all x
thanks for commenting! very reassuring coming from an artist that seems comfortable experimenting in a similar genre appreciate the feedback, here and on soundcloud. haha the drums being a little overblown might be more a product of the amateurish mix, but the arrangements are definitely my primary focus so I appreciate you saying so.

Reminder to everyone in this thread that repackaging samples or otherwise creating some sort of mishmash track is not skill or artistry, it is curation at best and that you are creating nothing but masked collages of other people's work. You are not experimenting, you are doing what a 5 year old does with dish soap flour in the kitchen. You're just mixing together shit that you think will sound good while not understanding the actual foundational expectations of music through actual time spent behind an instrument or composer's hand. 90% of the time Lo-fi is an excuse for poor mixing and composition skills in this thread. You would all benefit from putting on a pair of headphones when you mix so you can at least create a baseline of what someone with headphones will hear. If you say your music is "meme" or ironic, you have a foundational issue as an artist who needs to figure out whether or not the idea of expression is the right thing for you as creating empty drivel that you can't even be proud enough to say, "I made this with my heart and I am proud to say this is mine."
Every soundcloud thread is always the train straight to jaded/deluded dilettante town. All aboard.
you're not seriously suggesting that plunderphonics isn't a valid genre are you? Also, while i agree with the sentiment about 'meme-music' i've only come across one such project posted here, your post seems like a poor excuse to denote the entire thread without listening to the things posted here. Or i might just be biting into some very well crafted bait, who knows.
hey np man, i'm still kinda new to the mixing process myself, so i know the feeling.
Jackson Morgan
Okay so the lead synth seems a bit atonal when going up at the start of the melody line, also the drums are way too loud in the mix. The progression is also p much nonexistant, there needs to happen more than just more drums and like 15 seconds of drop, i think it would've been nice if you developed that 'drop' idea some more. With that said, i guess you're new to this whole producing thing, and it sounds pretty good for that, it sounds a lot like the things a made when i was just starting out. Keep practicing and you'll crank out sime nice shit in no time.
Ps. STUDY MUSIC THEORY, it makes an incredible difference, plus it makes the whole process 10x easier.
Isaiah Richardson
Posting your stuff in one of these threads is artistic suicide anyway since no actual talented well-respecting artists would want to associate themselves with this shithole.

yeah those guys already flopped nobody cares about them anymore

idk, you can find some quality shit in the bandcamp threads.
i like to call my shit blushcore, it’s electronic beats that sample pop, jpop, trance and iconic 2000s era samples bc i’m an edgy postmodernist. i make breakbeats too. i like to use a lot of distortion and tape delay but i like to keep my music somewhat soft and cutesy.
>blushcore >breakbeats
i’m also in a UK Cloud Rap group too called Limewire Boys, check us out cos we’ve been making music for two years. A lot of the shit we recorded last year is coming out now but towards the end of the summer our newer stuff’ll be out too.
the members of limewire boys are Neo Café, $hark and Yung Krane
I loved it, followed. I love your flow it cheers me up I followed keep working on your stuff limewire was really cool stuff not my taste, but it's really great work I could listen to it a few times dig the vibes, I followed followed! I love the hazy vibes I like it, followed followed, I like your newer stuff it sounds good for a first track. could not have said it better
I also just released this today >re-vised.bandcamp.com/track/tangerine >emo af >sampled drums >lo-fi, distorted vocals >sounds kinda like Have A Nice Life x American Football This is dedicated to one of my best friends, who killed herself over three years ago. I've gone through multiple versions over the years, but this is by far my favorite.
This is actually pretty cool, reminds me of some 80s post-punk/new wave, kinda like the wipers
