Ain't it the truth. Ain't it the truth.

Get Toto on his ass

Anyone else find the wizard of oz kind of creepy? Idk, its something about seeing shit from so long ago that werids me out, especially when considering what was happening to the world when this movie was made.

Where the fuck would he have the audacity to do that.

as much as I'd like to be jaded about it, it's a genuinely good movie. Doesn't look like it was made in the 30s.
The most startling fact about it is that Goebbels considered it the most potent example of Hollywood Jews' propaganda techniques-- and tried to top it with his own Baron Munchausen.

He was right

Oh yeah, I agree, the movie is good. Its just something about the way people looked, talked and acted. Its just werid, like looking at aliens or something

I watched this movie so many times as a kid that i can just about remember every single piece of dialogue from start to finish. It's pretty funny but also incredibly creepy. Especially those damn winged monkeys.

>It's pretty funny but also incredibly creepy. Especially those damn winged monkeys.
the creepiest part is when the wicked witch looks straight into the camera, laughing.

That is common in early films because the actors were typically trained for stage and stage acting requires stilted movements and over acting and expressing so the people in the back can see and hear clearly. They had not unlearned it for film.

Shit, any pictures of this?

Howl wildly, frizz up my hair and stand on my toes with my arms out to be more intimidating while moving towards him in a sideways fashion.

Works every time.

fuck off

The Wizard of Oz isn't an early film. Nothing done in movies today hadn't already been done by that time, except for CGI. All of the people knew how to act for film - those were the norms of film acting, at that time, that people wanted. It's pathetic to try to patronise the past with this kind of know-nothing garbage, user.

Disregard this idiot. It was the style at the time because of the reason I listed, not just because "people liked it". They "liked it" because it was what was functional for them at the time. A first fucking year film student knows this shit.

I use to watch this on VHS as a kid.

Damn fucking dancing munchkins.
