sup /b? tried weed once a long time ago and it didn't really do much for me. gonna be going to vegas soon and was thinking about trying it again since they legalized it. from what i read, you can't smoke it on the street or in any hotels or casinos and i don't have any local friends to smoke it in their house. can any of you stoner Sup Forumsros tell me if edibles are really the same kind of experience as smoking it? if so, what kind of shit do i need to look for when buying something?

Edible pros: No coughing, can't fuck it up since it's all going in.

Edible cons: Usually stronger/noob unfriendly, might not taste well at all.

Try a little bit at a time until you're only as high as you want to be, wach it down with a glass of water.

i really wouldn't recommend edibles to a newbie.
Just get some bud and smoke in some secluded area like bike trails or the woods.

Edibles kick you in the face after an hour...
When you want to make them you need not the green buds you need to buy the hash

does it come in different strengths so i could get something weaker since i'm a noob?

i've been to vegas several times and i'm not sure there's any secluded places near the strip.

Legal Oregon guy here.

Try edibles. I'd recommend 10mg to start with.
It is a different high than smoking.
It lasts longer and is more of a body high,
which is why real medical marijuana people prefer it.

The couple of times I got high from smoking
seemed to have a more trippy mental effect,
but like you it rarely does much for me.

Probably because we're smart and we don't really want to inhale
all that smoke into our lungs,
so even though we try and think we are,
we're not getting much exposure.

>does it come in different strengths so i could get something weaker since i'm a noob?

Edibles publish their lab-tested strength right on the package.
It's really the only way to get a known dosage.
If you care about knowing how much you are really getting,
a professional edible is the only way to go right now.

In Oregon the typical packaging now seems to be 40-50mg total,
in 10 pieces of 4-5mg each.
For example, 10 gummies or candy bar with 10 divisions.

>i'm not sure there's any secluded places near the strip.

Since you've been there,
you also know that you only have to walk one block off the strip
and you're in no-man's land.
I think you'll be fine.

You can set up a vap rig and smoke it stealthily.
Note that it's still smoking, not true vaping.

This is out-dated advice because these guys are clearly from non-legal states.

In a legal weed state, all the edibles are clearly labeled with the strength in mg of THC. There's a little variance, but it is WAY more accurate than trying to make edibles yourself.

So basically, grab a candy bar, it'll probably be 10 mg, and take a 1/4th (2.5 mg) of it. Wait an hour, and if you're still not feeling it, take another 1/4, and repeat.

I think for a noob, you'll actually want 5 mg to start with, but just in case you're sensitive, start lower like I suggested.

If you go slow like that you won't end up too high. Being too high from an edible DOES suck because instead of it being over in 30 minutes, you're high as shit for like 5 hours or more. And high enough weed CAN make you throw up, trust me. But that's only if you really fucked up.

cool, thanks for the info.

so i use a mouth fedora for my nicotine fix and i've heard vaping weed is a thing. do they happen to sell juice to vape i could just throw in my current setup?

good to know and czeched.

Edibles are for sitting around doing nothing. I like weed, but Vegas isn't the place for it. Walk around enjoy the casinos. Pot is for kicking back

I tried weed twice and each time I get chest pains, cannot catch my breath and felt like I was having a heart attack. Anyone else have this happen? How did they deal with it? I would like to try it again.

When I went to the ER they told me it was not laced and I was not allergic.

Bruh I was just there. Buy a little onezie and take one or two hits in the bathroom of your hotel room you'll be good.

smoke smaller amounts

Oregon guy here again.

I mostly agree, but:

>be me, edible newbie
>try out a mix of gummies, chocolate, taffy
>eat 10mg gummy one day, nothing happens
>eat same brand 10mg gummy a few days later, knocks me on my ass
>tell chick worker about it next time I visit dispensary
>me: "I don't think there's good quality controls on these edibles...."
>her: "Yeah...these guys aren't the most scientific minded, if you know what I mean."

>and take a 1/4th (2.5 mg) of it. Wait an hour, and if you're still not feeling it, take another 1/4, and repeat.

This is typical, common advice, but in my experience there's an issue with it.

Depending on many factors, such as how much you've eaten, your metabolism, etc., it could take longer to feel any effects.
You could end up taking a larger dose than you need if you take more afterwards,
and newbies will spend the time worrying about whether they're getting anything from it or not.

IMO 10mg is a good, safe dose for a young growing man,
well enough for a first-timer to know what's up,
but not enough to put him on his ass.

sounds like a plan. thanks fam.

The dispensaries sell TCH oil in tubes that screw right into your vape battery.
But most people say the high is very low-key and muted.
It's relatively expensive for the effect you get.
I rarely use mine for that, but it is stealthy.

There are also burning chambers you can buy
that hold ground leaf and screw into your vape battery.
This is like having a small, battery powered pipe.
But it's not vaping, it's just smoking.
The equipment gets so fouled with burnt residue
that you have to clean it after every usage.
More stealthy than a pipe/joint, but not as good as true vaping from oil as above.

Just fucking smoke it somewhere not sketchy. Don't be a pussy I used to get medical from there and nobody gave a fuck. Laughlin is pretty cool too and it's easier to smoke over there.

Edibles don't do shit for me. The biggest dose I had was 2 500mg cookies. Nothing at all fuck edibles
