Secure heel, adequate toe space, and make sure they're you're size and you're wearing boot socks
They should be stiff but comfortable. They'll need to be broken in but they shouldn't be awful. Try them all and see what you like the best.

HQ Supply isn't giving me exact model names for any of these - Only manufacturers are specified.
I don't know if I can determine all that you're telling me within 5 minutes of trying them out.
The one on the extreme right costs $130 cash. The other two are $90 but the army has a credits system where every serviceman gets about $140 or so per year to spend on their gear, which includes these two boots.

Then get the ones that feel the most comfortable around your feet, and get some good insoles for them.
Of the three I'm sure the magnums are the best but if you're only going to be on pavement and tarmac, then any pair with some good soles should do you fine.

They do have insoles separately but I never figured out why.
I've always thought they were just the same stock insoles as the ones inside the boot.

The Navy guys have a really cool boot with side zippers so they can take it off easy.
Maintenance techs have low-cut steel-toed ones. As it is I don't know how to acquire either one of these.
