now srs, the fact that this movie had so much praise just shows the sad state of horror nowadays, it was average at best and beyond stupid at times (dat ending was pure cringe).
and btw, irl the Warrens called it a hoax in its day and where only there for a day.
just watch any shitty "top ten real hauntings" or shit like that on yt if you want the "real" story

The Warrens were a kooky old couple that loved telling stories and exaggerating their experiences. They claimed to have actual video evidence of ghosts, lifting people up, throwing them around a room, trashing furniture, full-on Poltergeist undeniable shit. And not even recorded by them, but by a news studio with professional equipment and high-quality footage. When asked where such amazing proof of the supernatural went, they said the TV station decided they didn't really want to use it for anything and recorded over the tapes.

So yeah basically they're full of shit

I disagree, while I believe they're lying about TV stations being uninterested it's clear they wanted to cover it up.

First one was kinda good and at least had some spooky moments, this felt almost like an Insidious movie without Tiny Tim.

The first one was ok, but this one was a real disappointment.

The possessed kid was unconvincing in her acting (which was surprising as they typically find great child actors for these type of parts), and the first half of the movie was REALLY slow moving, since you were just waiting for the main characters to actually go to the haunted house.

Only scene I genuinely enjoyed was when based patrick wilson picked up the guitar and sang a bit of Elvis.

I liked it, had some good scares and I enjoy the continued story with Ed and Loraine. The old man remained creepy for me throughout except for the crooked man stuff (was it stop motion at one point?) The design and execution of the nun is still haunting me the twist at the end was okay, I didn't see it coming. so thats a plus

When you watch most other new horror coming out James Wan is making godtier. It was a nice departure from the first conjuring.
Most horror films just rehash the first movie but I like that they tried something slightly different. I feel like the babadook had an influence on location and feel.

the only death i can think of is the dog in the first one. Kinda hard to feel a sense of danger when they arent going to kill anyone off.

The demon killed off people long before the new family moved into the house. But yeah, the only on screen death was the dog.
