whats your favorite album to smoke a bowl to?
How do I create DANK R I F F S ?
any metalcore bands that are ever worth listening to, as in they actually do a good job at what they do?
>smoking bowls instead of blunts
and the answer is always slam
even before slam was a thing, I'd blaze to shit like Dying Fetus, Carcass, Cannibal Corpse...
I'm grown now, so I've matured, and instead of smoking to those bands, I drink instead
man fuck that shit
glass bowl ALWAYS unless i gotta b sneaky in wich case ill roll up a doob haha
blunts is a refined culture dude, its all about the roll
and the slowly swirling smoke emitting from the perfect circle cherry
a bowl will hit you hard and fast and there's no way to take a nice small toke from it
Pestilence - Resurrection Macabre
that Massacre album everyone hates
that Destruction album everyone hates

Yes, black metal was originally intended for instragram attention whores
go to sleep child, you aint shit
Am I still banned on Sup Forums?
Okay, I am not. So yeah, if you enjoy glam, you literally enjoy watered down trad metal/or watered down nwobhm. You're no different from the guys that listen to boring atmoshit or gothenburg crap if you unironically like glam. Same with most power metal bands as they don't bring the riffs.
Mercyful Fate by far for actually adding an interesting twist on that kind of riff. Hell, MF along with Accept are the only two bands mentioned worth listening to. too many damn tracks from the other three bands with the same chord progression. Meanwhile Mercyful Fate by far brings the most actual riffs of that style of music, and Accept does the slower groovier style the best.

>walmart ac/dc is worth listening to
Now this is metal.

mods here hate free speech bro
is that why there's no country general? we could use it
There are like maybe a few tracks that are this way. Not entire albums that's for sure. Most of it is just too watered down to otherwise compete with the best of trad/heavy metal.
Accept is AC/DC but with more diversity in their sound so they retain the good aspects of AC/DC's music (the heaviness) without the shit parts (repetitive structures, repetitive rhythm sections, not as creative riffs.)
The other three bands rely way too much on that "play chord, then slide back four frets play that chord, then slide two up from there and play that chord" progression.

UUUHHHH! BABY!
To all you glam shit talkers, how the fuck is it possible to even dislike this song?
youtube.com
So much emotion, power and melody. Literally no other metal genre can achieve all those feelings in just one song
So in order words, DO NOT like these albums unless you want to be accused of being a shitter.
wow! check out all those cool metal bands
boy do I envy you, you must get all the girls
Agree, glam is amazing, the ones who talk shit about glam only know poison and motley crue, they hate the genre because they don't really know how is
youtube.com
>People still buy that fucking Linkin Park album
Rec me something. Also i already know its nu-male so lets get that out of the way

Best glam band of all times, Vito Bratta is a god
>boring, uncreative riffs with generic glam progression
>half the first verse doesn't even have riffs
>rhythm section that refuses to do heavy grooves nor intricate yet intense stuff
>end result isn't heavy like slower metal nor intense like faster metal
>boring soloing staying in pentatonic
No, it's everything that's wrong with metal.
>the ones who talk shit about glam only know poison and motley crue, they hate the genre because they don't really know how is
Yet every single example you guys provide shows how generic and watered down the genre is. And I used to think thrash's chugging or occasions of just playing one chord was boring.
How do you like the sound, raw enough?

Seriously, is heavy music dead?
I don't mean purist elitist stuff, but even the commercialized metalcore/deathcore/hardcore stuff. I see a lot of Sumerian-core bands still going on tour, but I just cringe when I hear the kind of stuff they are putting out now.
Heavy music seems like it's lost it's cultural relevancy. It's no longer a platform for counter-culture...or anything interesting at all. It's literally just a genre you look into when you want to hear some cool guitar riffs or crazy drum patterns.
I was playing in a touring technical deathcore band from 2011-2013, but quit when I started to get the feeling that the genre was a whole was dying out. I think djent was just beginning to decline at the end of 2013, and I had predicted that "djent" would sort of be the death of heavy music for a while.
The reason for this is because "djent" was sort of a rich suburban bedroom producer nerd trend within heavy music. The entire thing was based around expensive equipment, expensive recording gear, and other shit like that.
There was absolutely nothing counter-culture about that trend. It was completely cringe-tier, and I predicted that heavy music in the cultural sense would begin declining heavily after that.
And then there was that new Stray From The Path song which solidified my suspicions that it has become completely culturally tone-deaf, and is currently ruled by really cringey politically progressive types (which is a declining political ideology).
So is metal culturally worthless right now or what?
>t. needs to get out more
youtube.com
but what about halo themed deathcore
>tech-black/thrash
does it exist?
obvious solution is rap metal revival
not a single word of what you said computes
the fuck you on about
listen and rejoice, or fuck the right fuck off and take your mental mumbo jumbo with you
the fuck's the matter with you

INTO THE FOREST
love vulvodynia
You're only mentioning the most surface level of metal, the absolute garbage of the genre
I feel like I;m the only one who actually likes Host
ROTN will revitalize the genre with their next album
lmao
Slayer could go for the previous album though
How bad was Equillibrium?
I already put Burzum dungeon core
Can tech death be too techy?
It doesn't change it from fitting there
Yeah I actually like a lot of this sort of C-list deathcore stuff all over YouTube, but you cannot deny that it has absolutely no cultural-presence. Nobody would ever say this is new or cutting edge in any way.
Back in 2006-2008 when all those commercialized deathcore bands like Suicide Silence, Bring Me The Horizon and all that came out, it was something new. It was heavy, but it had some sort of mainstream appeal, and an aesthetic that appealed to normies. Even people who weren't into heavy music might go to a show or something, and the "scene" aesthetic was huge.
I would say most people wouldn't even admit to liking this sort of heavy music today (what you posted).
